I'm one of the first to complain about Alexa's overpushed booking but this sucks. I'm glad Nikki got her spot because I think it will improve the MITB but I'm hoping Alexa is fine and they're just being cautious. Putting someone who suffered a major concussion in a ladder match was not a great idea to begin with. Really though, hopefully she's actually okay.

On Wrestling Observer Live today, Dave Meltzer wondered out loud if this was karma for Alexa claiming on Twitter a few months ago that she was fine. How come every time Meltzer seems to open his mouth about a women it’s one derogatory thing after another ? I think he's still mad Peyton called him out when he said what he did about her. I don't think it's necessarily something he does on purpose, he just has a bad filter between his brain and his mouth.

Meltzer should just like, hire someone else to talk or write about women wrestlers from now on. It seems impossible for him to do it without developing foot-in-mouth syndrome.

I think the term "tempting fate" is what you were going for there, Meltz.

Well she kind of killed that off it would seem. Well to be fair she's downplayed her being injured a few other times and then promptly got hurt again shortly after. I think it's premature to say her career is over at this point but I think it's pretty safe to say she's not going to be wrestling too much longer. It's been obvious that they've been working around possible injury issues for a while now with her getting a talk show and having her wrestling very little. I'm not a doctor but three concussions in less then a year span is pretty concerning to say the least.

Well she kind of killed that off it would seem. But aren’t the performers often the last to admit when it’s time to stop? Unless her not being cleared is a work, there is obviously an issue.

Once you've had a concussion it's easier to get another and another. She may not be being told told to quit now but if these keep racking up (and her awkward bumps can't be helping matters) then she'll find her career ended for her.

WOR is reporting that Alexa threw up backstage after a bump recently:
Seems like a precaution, but one that they will be keeping an eye on. Alexa is a valuable performer, but her health has to come first. And I think there's plenty of value in her as a non-wrestler too.

I really don't get why they put her in it, knowing she's had such a hard time staying healthy since last summer. If she was 100% I could at least understand it (get the fans nervous about her winning it over someone fresher), but she already had to miss her match with Trish at Evolution which I know she was probably heartbroken over since that was her dream match.

Retire from the ring. Her true skills are in her mic work and personality anyway, and the health risks long term just aren't worth it

I'm sorry but the less Alexa in the ring I have to see the better. Her ridiculous mega push as the unstoppable Alexa Reigns where she ran through wrestlers twice as talented as her wore on me quickly. 5 title reigns from someone who should have never had one is more than enough. C'est nes pas un it, Chief

I know some people were speculating about this before, but I’ll echo it: it makes you wonder if WWE’s work schedule is not a good idea for smaller wrestlers. When you’re petite and not padded by a great deal of muscle (I know Alexa was a fitness model, but she’s very lean), these bumps are only magnified, and especially when you’re being made to work well over 200 dates a year with little to no downtime.

I think this is the main reason so many of the women’s house show matches are tags, six man tags, and special referee matches. Cuts down on the bumping any one woman has to do each night.
