Vince probably strutted into the merchandising department: I WANT SOME AMERICAN FLAG SLEEVE SHIRTS DAMN IT That becomes a network special.... .....I'd watch. And laugh.

What’s happened with the damn merch department? I’ve never really thought about critique because I generally wouldn’t know what would constitute better shirt designs if they were staring me in the face, but there just seems to be less and less good stuff coming out. Without knowing if there's been any internal changes or hires/promotions because like why the hell would we have that information, my guess is just "merch is down, put out way more shirts because some collectors and die-hards will buy it anyway" and a general push toward quantity of designs over any sort of quality. When you have to put out (X) new shirt designs a month or whatever you're going to phone them in more, and 'phoned in' is about hwo I'd describe most of the shirts we've seen threads for lately.

This reminds me of a 2004 Broadbent Arena Smackdown house show I went to. I saw a woman in the crowd with a Bret Hart shirt on, but he was standing in front of the American flag. I have no idea where she got that shirt but I've never seen another one like it.

I haven’t bought a WWE t-shirt in several, several years, but I am THISCLOSE to plunking down money on that Hulk Hogan American flag shirt. I’m absolutely the kind of person whose interest in a product goes up about 100-fold if you slap Old Glory on it.

Someone do a SMITH and we're all done here. Nah, one sleeve is Booker T, the other Scott Hall. THEN we're done here.

So when did Becky Lynch Bodyslam that evil foreigner Nia Jax on the U.S.S. Intrepid?
Will she still be our hero after Money In The Bank and tour with the Bex Express?

See i'd at least consider buying the Undisputed Era one if the sleeves were white like the rest of the t-shirt, their logo looks pretty cool designed like that, the Flag sleeves just let it down.

I have no idea where she got that shirt but I've never seen another one like it. Dude! I know the exact shirt you're talking about. I was dating a wrestler in 2008 and one of her exs showed up to a party at her apartment wearing that shirt, and kept attempting to corner her to get her to talk about it, standing in deliberate weird ways to draw attention to it in what I'd imagine was an attempt to impress her. After his fourth try, when she was now visibly uncomfortable, I pulled up next to her and flatout asked "why is Bret in front of the American flag?" She then saw it and said "yeah, what's that about?" The guy kind of mumbled a response, and a little while later awkwardly left. I hadn't thought of that moment until reading this post just now. From what I can remember (and Bret's style of sunglasses on it), it was from late in his WCW run and was one of those shoddy prints that, being officially licensed, was just barely one step above bootleg quality. Like those cheap t-shirt stores at the mall that sell bargain-basement items of every trend. No idea where he got it eight or so years after that, this is also when NYC's vintage t-shirt market was booming (I almost got her a early 90s Roddy Piper Hotrod shirt as a graduation gift, which was going for $85) so he could have scooped it from some hipsters. EDIT: FOUND IT! www.etsy.com/listing/578287753/vintage-90s-world-wrestling-the-legendThere are some maple leaves on it too, so maybe this was from when Bret was US Champion and creative services ran amok?

I'm surprised they didn't do a revised version of Hogan's white "American Made" T-shirt from the 80's that he would wear sometimes.

If you read the flag code it actually is desecration of the flag to use it as clothing Oh man, don't let the South find out. Everyone will be shirtless. ...you havent been to the south, have you? Bit late in that regard

All of these shirts look awful, but there's something really sketchy about Becky's. Like, I don't think they're going to get the intended crowd there.

It could have been from that weird time in late 1999 WCW when Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan were feuding with The Revolution, when they had somehow become an anti-American stable with their own flag, because Vince Russo. It was weird because you had Bret and Benoit standing up for both the US and Canada in this angle.
