This forum needs a place where people who enjoy tabletop games, be they board games, CCGs, RPGs, and so forth can talk about what they're playing, what they want to play, or what should they play should they want something new to enjoy.
Wanna talk about the classics like Monopoly, Clue, Sorry!, or Risk? Go for it. Into the more modern classics like Carcassonne, Race for the Galaxy, Catan, or Dominion? Let it be known. Anyone try the modern favorites like Gloomhaven, Scythe, Root, or Wingspan? Here's your chance to talk about it. Wanna talk about your Keyforge deck? Your favorite Yu-gi-oh or Magic: The Gathering cards? Your latest D&D campaign? This is the place for you.
And if possible, lets try to set up online games, be it through the official game or through Tabletop Simulator.

I've always wanted to play table top games but I know nobody who is interested in them and I think I'd feel too awkward joining a xlub.

Man, it's funny you should make this thread, since I was also considering making something similar a couple of hours ago. I've really gotten into board and tabletop gaming in the past 6 months or so. Some of my favourites I have are Betrayal at House on the Hill, Coup (& Coup Reformation), Camp Grizzly, Codenames, Gloom, Munchkin Booty (cause Pirates, ARRRR!) and a few others. I've also enjoyed playing stuff like Secret Hitler, Exploding Kittens and Resistance. I'm generally drawn to games that allow light-hearted and funny commentary over the gameplay, as well as various aspects of social deduction and interaction. I'm also down for any recommendations, and whatever. If we can work out some sort of online playing, I'd also be down for that.

A few years ago, a bunch of us on another forum were playing Pathfinder via a combo of Skype and... uhm.... Roll20? Was fun.

A yugioh FAN tourney would be awesome over YGOPRO.
And use something like Talky where you can get a whole bunch in a room with mic access and no one has to download anything to use it.

Currently running a D&D campaign based on the Diablo II video game. Also enjoy playing Catan, Gloom, Munchkin, Exploding Kittens, and Bears against Babies.
I also have a fondness for classic board games and games that are difficult to find. My friends and I enjoy classics like Uno and Trouble while my personal favorites are Key to the Kingdom, Tornado Rex, and, the crown jewel of my collection, a 100% complete Fireball Island.
We also have a point system that we keep track of during the year. Once the clock hits midnight on New Year’s Eve, the person with the most points gets a medieval goblet as a trophy. My wife won last year.

I don't get the chance to play things as much as I would like. I do play Battletech with a small group once a week. We might pepper in the occasional Shaddowrun session once the new material comes available.
I used to play D&D quite a bit, having gotten my start in AD&D (aka, 2nd ed). Last time I played that in a group, the 4th ed had been rolled out and we decided we were sticking with 3.5. It was a fun group, to say the least.
The last RPG group I participated in was a Star Wars Saga ed group. We also got to playtest the Fantasy Flight Games version of the RPG during beta testing.
I also have experience with Rolemaster and a local brew game called Adventure Quest, which predated the similarly named MMORPG by decades, at Purdue University. As far as I know the Adventure Quest group still meets each week on Saturday evenings on campus (I know they at least still did in 2016, and considering that the group met since 1976, I expect that to continue). When I played with them the weekly attendance varied between 60-120 any given week, so it was well received.
Edit: Looking into it, the group actually still maintains a website for the members to keep track of the various campaigns running (usually about 10). The site also has a logbook, showing the last meeting as this past Saturday.

I want to play Dungeons and Dragons really bad.
There's a Tabletop Gaming Club at my school, but the Video Game Club (which I help run) is on the same day and I can't get any of the advisors to change days. Booooooo!

Would anyone happen to have the online ports of games like Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, Tokaido, etc? Asking in case anyone wants to play one of those in the future.

I'm also a total Pathfinder junkie and I'm buying up all the first ed. books I can while theyre still on sale. Second ed feels like it completely misses the point of what Pathfinder was supposed to be and I don't care for it AT ALL.

Second ed feels like it completely misses the point of what Pathfinder was supposed to be and I don't care for it AT ALL. I dont dislike either, there is things I like for example the Layered Magic where you burn actions for more effect. It just is for dnd 5e what pathfinder is for 3.5. A more flexible ,customizable and open alternative.
