Bigger question is why the hell didn't Washington jump on the trademarks much faster than some dude in Virginia? Even if they don't have a decided name yet if they had a few possibilities they should have thought ahead, this is a billion dollar franchise looking like fools if you ask me.

I mean, when the owner literally says, "I will never ever change the name of the team." They probably thought, "f*** it. We don't need them then."

I look forward to the inevitable cap hell KC finds themselves in The Kansas City Chiefs' roster in about three years is going to be Patrick Mahomes, Chris Jones, and, like, the rest of the St. Louis BattleHawks of the XFL.

I mean, they have a few guys locked up but no matter who you are, you need cap space in the event of injures, guys falling off etc. It's never wise to give money out like PEZ candy

The Chiefs are banking on the "Clone Clause". That by paying Mahomes, they are also in fact securing the rights to his clone army with the same deal. Chiefs will still be left with a shitty kicking game and no defense, but imagine those lateral-no-look-passing-flea-flicker-double-reverse plays!

The way the Chiefs are spending right now reminds me of when Homer Simpson would always throw this lavish Mardi Gras celebration, and when pressed about how he could afford it, he said he kept borrowing on a home equity loan. But when he and Marge go to see the mortgage broker and he sees how much his new monthly payment is, he tells the broker, "When you gave me that money, you said I wouldn't have to repay it 'til the future! This isn't the future, it's the lousy, stinking now!"
The Chiefs are spending like they either don't understand the concept of a future or they have insider knowledge that the NFL will cease operations within two to three years and they're just going straight-up nuts and letting it ride.

There are already fans screaming about how "They're the new Patriots dynasty!". Did anyone happen to pay attention to how the Patriots spent money over the years and how that related to how they built their team? Do they realize that what NE did is damn near unheard of? I'd hold off on the dynasty talk until you, you know, win more than one. Just ask the Packers, Ravens, Eagles, Broncos, Seahwks etc......

KC is likely in βwin nowβ mode which makes total sense . They have a young and healthy mobile QB whoβs probably the beat in the game. An all world tight end whoβs on the wrong side of 30 and a top five receiver if healthy who if he plays at his current level you probably wonβt be able to resign when his contract is up in a couple of years.
Theyβll arguably be the best team in the league for at least the next two seasons. If youβre at the top do everything you can to stay there, rebuild and pray you draft well

They better hope his attitude remains in check from now on with that money or this could turn into a LOLCLEVELAND real fast. Eagles also re-signed Peters for a year and he will play right guard. Was inevitable when Brooks went down.

They better hope his attitude remains in check from now on with that money or this could turn into a LOLCLEVELAND real fast. Myles Garrett may be a great pass rusher, but Juan Marichal is in the Baseball Hall of Fame and the longest entry on his Wikipedia page is the John Roseboro incident, so no matter what accolades he may achieve over his career, Garrett probably will never (and should never) escape what he did to Mason Rudolph last November.
