People finally catching on that yearly sports titles are stupid. Sites like IGN don't help, as instead of criticizing how they've taken away content over the years, they remain wistful in the hopes EA will bring back said content. I havenβt bought Madden in a couple of years for the simple fact it does seem like a roster update every year with a few bells and whistles I donβt care about. Could Madden benefit from operating the way Rockstar has with GTA V? Release a title every time the next gen console comes out with constant upgrades ?

It would, but then how would EA maximize revenue with Ultimate Team? That's the only reason it's still a yearly game and not an investment.

Giants sign veteran DB and New Jersey native Logan Ryan. Nice pickup in a position they're woefully thin at.

Iβm glad the Jags are such a dumpster fire that my Vikes got Yannick on the cheap.

You can pinpoint the Week 2 win against the Pats a couple years ago, where guys acted like they'd just won their 10thΒ Superbowl,Β as the moment the wheels started to fall off for Jaguars. The Culture there is a complete dumpster fire, full of people who have no idea how to proceed when the spotlight is on them. They should have been a legit contender for the forseeable future. Instead they're tanking for the next big fix....again.Β Every teams that has a history of sucking or choking does this when they beat the Pats. It's their Super Bowl. Whether it's the Browns, Jets, Jags and few more I'm forgetting. That's why I always laugh when teams do that to any great team, let alone the arguably for some and in my opinion the best franchise in America Football history.

See: Miami Miracle, a play that is celebrated like crazy. I do believe they even have a mural of it in the stadium. I should point out that Miami missed the playoffs that year and the Patriots won the Superbowl,

To me, there's two reasons why the Jaguars caved in. 1. Signing Blake Bortles to a three-year extension for $54 million through the 2020 season rather than letting him play on his fifth-year option or finding a better quarterback on the market during the 2018 off-season. It was crystal clear by the end of the 2017 season that Bortles was a game manager, a side car, the kind of quarterback you win in spite of. He would've been the Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson of the 2017 Jaguars had that year's team won Super Bowl LII. He put together a very serviceable 21 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 2017 for a rating of 84.7, but he only had five games with a rating over 100. He was never truly called on to win the game for Jacksonville. Instead of signing him to a hefty extension, the Jaguars should've let him play on his fifth-year option or cut ties with him and found a more reliable quarterback on the market such as Kirk Cousins or Teddy Bridgewater. 2. The team believed its own hype. All off-season, all they heard about was how they were 10 minutes away from the Super Bowl, and they bought into it. So they came into the 2018 regular season overconfident, with the expectation that a return to the Conference Championship was preordained, that it wouldn't be that hard. That's why you saw all that in-fighting and trash-talking from guys who'd frankly done little or nothing to deserve to be hoisting themselves onto such a pedestal, and it happened once they realized "oh s**t, it's going to be harder than we thought." Guys like Jalen Ramsey put a target square on the Jaguars' backs and they couldn't back it up. It reminded me a lot of the 2011 Jets, who'd come off consecutive appearances in the AFC Championship Game, signed a whole bunch of veteran free agents, and proceeded to stumble to an 8-8 record because all they did was write checks off the field that they couldn't cash on the field.

There's not many stories as interesting as the 2017 Jacksonville Jaguars. They were the flash in the pan of the NFL. We've seen great times fall apart but it mostly happens slowly, the Jags it happened in a matter of months. This is one of the most fascinating implosions I've seen in sports because of how fast their Rome was built and how fast it burned down.

Rams could be closing in if they keep going backwards but they are underperforming with stars they had as opposed to trading and releasing everyone

Patriots are releasing WR Mohammad Sanu The Sanu deal is likely going to go down as one of, if not the, worst deals Bill Belichick and Nick Caserio have ever signed off on. Last October, they sent a second-round pick in the 2020 Draft (55th overall) to Atlanta in exchange for Mohamed Sanu, and in Sanu's nine games as a Patriot, he produced 27 catches for 218 yards and one touchdown on 52 targets. The worst part is that 10 catches, 81 yards, one touchdown, and 14 targets came in one game - a week nine loss to the Ravens, meaning that if you wipe that game from the books, Sanu was responsible for 17 catches, 137 yards, no touchdowns, and 38 targets in his other eight games, all while the Patriots desperately needed a receiver to step up as the team floundered to a 4-4 finish to the regular season and a one-and-done in the playoffs.

It's made worse by the fact they pursued Sanu over Emmanuel Sanders. Now to at least be somewhat fair to Belichick on this one, the reported reason they did so was at the behest of Brady. He pushed for Sanu over Sanders.

Colts use up some of that massive amount of cap space to make Ryan Kelly the highest paid center in the NFL. The extension is 4 years/$50M.

The Brady Bucs are either gonna be an amazingly assembled dream team or a complete and utter dumpster failure with all the names being assembled and forced into the holes. I just don't see an in-between...
