And their careers is f***ed How you go from playing video games at a cookout to robbing people As I was listening to LeBatard this morning he said "Never take anything at face value coming out of Miramar. There's more to this story than the initial reports suggest." Not that I'm suggesting Dunbar and Baker are innocent or anything, but Miramar's shady as hell. Could end up being a "When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong" situation.
They def going to have to hope more comes out Like at the bare minimum you are f***ed over for walking around with a gun unless they somehow got setup.

bleacherreport.com/articles/2891907-report-nfl-proposing-incentives-for-minority-hc-hires-more-rooney-rule-tweaksIn an attempt to encourage teams to hire minority coaches, the NFL intends to present multiple resolutions to owners during the annual league meetings next week. Per NFL.com's Jim Trotter, the resolutions that are expected to be voted on include removing an anti-tampering barrier that allows teams to block assistant coaches from interviewing for coordinator positions and an incentive program that will reward clubs for hiring minority candidates as head coaches or executive-level positions in the football operations department. Under the incentive proposal, teams would receive a boost in their third-round draft pick if they hire a minority as head coach or primary football executive and keep him or her employed for multiple years. This doesn't seem like the greatest idea.

It's sad the NFL has to even consider this to get these owners to give minorities an opportunity at high level positions.

It's sad the NFL has to even consider this to get these owners to give minorities an opportunity at high level positions. I mean, the federal government had to threaten to evict the Racialslurs (they have played on federally owned stadiums for decades) in order to make them sign non-white players, so it has been worse in the NFL.

James has also come out and said it wasn't a bounty or anything, and it wasn't anything like that at all. Roger Goodell still fined him $50K. 😁 That joke never gets old, and I'm a Steelers fan.

It's perfectly legal to carry a gun on you in Florida, as long as you get a permit. Take a 3 hour class and pass a background check, and you're good.

It’s sad that they think so lowly about potential minority GMs and coaches that they’re planning on bribing teams to appoint them It's more like they recognize that teams will hire every incompetent white dude before thinking about hiring a black guy. Here is a collection of current NFL head coaches: Matt Patricia, Zac Taylor, Joe Judge, Matt LeFleur, Adam Gase. There are even some guys that may have done alright, but were questionable hires: Mike Vrabel, Kliff Kingsbury (even John Harbaugh, really). Some who are new hires that have a questionable but acceptable HC resume: Matt Rhule, Kevin Stefanski. And then there is Eric Bieniemy, who has been the OC for the most successful offense in the league in his two years as OC, working under an HC that has a track record of grooming his assistants for head coaching success. Literally every one of those guys I mentioned above had more question marks when they were hired than Bieniemy has now, and a few have already shown themselves to be complete incompetents, and yet they are head coaches, whereas Bieniemy isn't. And when you look at GMs, I mean, Bill O'Brien is a GM.

But people would say they just hired some retread white dude.

And now Bills defensive lineman Ed Oliver has been arrested for DWI and gun charges.
What is seriously going on here?!

Of course. But incentivizing hiring a minority just because of their skin color is not any less racist than not hiring minorities to begin with. Fact is owners can hire whoever they want. The league is predominantly African American. They aren’t drafting those players because of race, it is due to perceived talent. In the absence of any clear division between coaching candidates, in other words when going with one candidate or the other regardless of skin tone is a pick em, then they’ll go with who they are most comfortable with. That’s every facet of life. I like the sentiment but the execution is not good. Makes the league look worse, if anything.

I am sure Bostonians will adore it though I agree Jordan had more mainstream name/appeal, but I think you're underestimating the impact Brady had/has on young kids wanting to be like him and play QB just like him.

I am sure Bostonians will adore it though I agree Jordan had more mainstream name/appeal, but I think you're underestimating the impact Brady had/has on young kids wanting to be like him and play QB just like him. Tom Brady was never the cultural icon that Michael Jordan was. At Jordan's peak, he was arguably one of the most famous people in the world, never mind its most famous athlete. Brady, while incredibly identifiable, hasn't transformed the zeitgeist the way Jordan did for about 15 years from the mid-1980s into the late-1990s. For example: my friend's wife from Ecuador called Tom Brady as "Gisele's husband," because internationally - and especially in South America - Gisele is more of a cultural icon than Tom Brady. That said, in terms of pure material, there's more than enough to fill a nine-hour documentary on Tom Brady. His college days backing up Drew Henson, getting drafted 199th overall, stepping in for an injured Drew Bledsoe, the "Bledsoe or Brady?" debate that filled New England sports talk radio airwaves in 2001, the Snow Bowl, Super Bowl XXXVI, transforming from anonymous backup to superstar, the run of dominance from 2001 through 2006, Spygate, the 18-0 start to 2007, Super Bowl XLII, tearing his ACL in the first quarter of 2008 and his rehabilitation, his battles with Peyton and Eli Manning, the Aaron Hernandez situation, Deflategate and the multi-year legal battle that ensued, Super Bowl XLIX, the 28-3 comeback in Super Bowl LI cementing his legacy as the unquestioned greatest of all-time, the TB12 Method, falling just short in Super Bowl LII and redemption in Super Bowl LIII, all leading up to his departure from the Patriots and signing with the Buccaneers.
