What Brees said is probably supported by more than half the country. His timing was shit, if he said saidit a couple months from now or at least mentioned how he understood why people would do the opposite of him hes golden.
What Desean Jackson said is straight up shit and if you support it or endorse it than shame on you. And if you condemn people for being silent when one group is attacked but turn the other way when another is you're a fool.

And if you condemn people for being silent when one group is attacked but turn the other way when another is you're a fool. The irony of people ragging on Brees is that the NFL did the same thing (in action) as he said (in words) for years. It鈥檚 kind of like my criticism of WWE where it鈥檚 run by a known bigot but he provides a wrestling fix that many fans want so anything he does is pushed to the side, while individual talent is held to a higher standard. It鈥檚 easier for people to hate on Brees than it is to stop watching/supporting the NFL, so the talent becomes the scapegoat for social change rather than the institution itself. I agree, Brees at worst was ignorant and tone deaf. What Jackson (both of them) said was way worse and should be treated with way more vitriol.

I think what Stephen did was even worse because DeSean was always kind of an idiot. But because of horrible circumstances, Stephen Jackson found himself as a leader in one of the biggest civil rights movements since the 60's. So defending ignorance like that is just real damn shameful, especially doubling down with a practical "I'm sorry you were offended" apology instead of actually taking responsibility for his words. Bomani Jones had one of my favorite takes about this. It was, paraphrased, "The second you start off saying 'Hitler said,' you immediately lose any and all point you were trying to make. Hitler could say the sky was blue, then that means we need to start looking for a new word for the color blue." And even if Hitler's name was never evoked (and it wasn't a real quote by him), the content of the phrase was antisemitic as f***. And I say that acknowledging that racism is a problem within the Jewish community towards Jews of color and one that should be talked about more candidly. But the narrative that quote was promoting is false and only created to validate an antisemitic narrative the likes of Louis Farrakhan like to push out there. It's the kind of narrative that motivates two domestic terrorists to murder 4 people in Jersey City (and could've done so much worse if they weren't stopped) last year. BTW DeSean and Stephen? Y'know who wasn't fond of Black people at all? Hitler.

Brees is probably already fine. He did like a complete 180 on his stance within a week.

I had heard a couple times today changing the name to the Americans and keeping the logo. Thats not a horrible idea. Id guess theyre going to go with Warriors or something dumb and phonetic I鈥檇 be fine with them becoming the Americans and keeping the logo. Warriors is definitely the least exciting option.

I saw that the Jaguars announced that they plan to only have 25% capacity for their home games to ensure social distancing. I had no idea that the Chargers were so forward thinking that they complied with that standard last season.

So I know I don't post in this thread much, but I thought I'd ask for advice here.
For those that don't know, I'm the commish for F.A.N.'s own Fantasy Football league. I had a question I need some feedback on.
For about 10 years now we've played under the same format; non-PPR, non-superflex, 1 QB,3 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 DEF, 1 K and 1 normal flex (WR/RB/TE). I'm debating shaking that up a bit this year, but am afraid to throw off the balance of the league.
I debated putting half-point PPR into the scoring, but with us traditionally running 3 WRs, I'm afraid that might tilt things towards making the WR position overvalued compared to everything else. And I'm fine if WR is, by a little bit, the most valuable position any given year. But I feel like this will make WRs MUCH more valuable to the point someone running flops in every other position has a successful season based solely on WR. I feel like the only ways to counter such a change would be either making the flex position a super-flex (allowing to use the QB in flex) or by shrinking things down to 2 WRs instead of 3 (but still allowing a 3rd in flex).
What do you guys think?

What do you guys think? PPR I'd be fine with half or full point but nothing more. I do understand the fear of that giving too much power to WRs, and I had Michael Thomas last year. (If we had PPR then oh man). It also means more high scoring games if we did do PPR. I honestly would not mind 2 WR and a super-flex. I've always felt like with a with everyone going for a third WR that we're scraping the bottom of the barrel for that last spot and WR back ups. Doing Super-Felx gives people more options so if they want to go for the classic 3 WR structure they can. It also puts WAY more value in drafting a QB position. I think it would be very interesting to see who might try to go for a 2 QB build on their team and pick up a 2nd QB earlier than normal. I just think 2 WR and a Super Flex gives more choices and variety of how people play their teams. I'd almost throw the idea of doing an auction league this time around but I won't object if we keep the snake draft. I feel like the snake draft is not worth fixing if it's not broken.

What do you guys think? I don't really think the system we've been using is all that bad, to be honest. I'd keep it unchanged. Besides, my big problem is just actually getting a team that doesn't give me a goddamned headache (especially at QB like last year- but then just about every year I think I have a sure thing for QB and it blows up on my face which is why Rodgers is on my "no draft" list this year) and I'm hoping this year would be the year (mostly because I'm still determined to win Seth's fantasy Monster Crap thing so I can finally get Dracula 2000 its much-deserved induction).

No matter the rules, I鈥檇 love to find my way into the FAN League this year. I鈥檝e slacked and missed the cutoff a few times. Be on the lookout then. I'll be announcing a date in its own thread soon. I ALMOST did it this morning just to address any concerns if the pandemic affects the NFL season and what my plan is in that case (and I tentatively have one). But then I was thinking about the format and thought about a shakeup. I don't know if I'm gonna do a "superflex" this year out of fear of making QBs too valuable (someone could draft Mahomes and Jackson with their 1st and 2nd picks and probably make the playoffs off them alone, barring injury), but reducing WRs to 2 and going either 0.5 or 1 PPR might be happening (keeping in mind you can still run a 3rd WR in the flex spot).

Eagles have fined DeSean Jackson for his comments.
Meanwhile, Antonio Brown just got a $5 million settlement from the Patriots and New England also had to pay a grievance settlement to Aaron Hernandez.

As long as its not Red Tails or Generals It is so weird to see anyone discussing the possibility that the last team in the league to hire any non-white players (and only did so when their landlord, the federal government, threatened to evict them over their discriminatory practices) might name themselves the same as a famous WW2 fighter squadron of black pilots.
