For years, people complained about the catch rule and I didn't really care. I felt it made sense and it never really disrupted the flow of the game for me. But this year, I'm annoyed. Between the increase in penalties to the PI review system not making sense (it's literally a system that asks refs to judge how bad a call something was) to the death of the onside kick, it's a lot of things that could easily be fixed. The NFL needs to sit down this offseason and actually try to make the game better.
Can someone explain to me why the commentators of the Lions verses the Packers keep saying that the winner of the game will sit atop the NFC North? If the Lions win they will be 3-1-1 and the Packers will be 4-2. Is a tie worth more than a win as long as you have less loses?
Apparently it does, as per someone explaining it to me on Facebook
A win is 1.0 for the win%, a loss is 0.0, and a tie is 0.5. Thus a 3-1-1 is average 0.700 win% and 4-2 is 0.666 win%, i.e 3-1-1 is better.

Steelers president Dan Rooney said NFL owners "weren't that enthusiastic" about implementing the new pass interference review system, but they agreed to a one-year trial because of the competition committee's recommendation.
