While I think the chances of this are pretty slim, I saw someone mention this elsewhere and decided to make a thread about it. What would you think if Jon Moxley showed us during this run that some people are better off having no input in their own characters like a certain Damian Sandow aka Aron Rex?

Didn't Moxley have a pretty good amount of cred before he came to WWE, whereas Sandow was in developmental for like a decade before getting called up? It would seem Moxley has a better track record based on that.

Aron Rex was tremendous for all of the wrong reasons so there would at least be some hilarity out of it.
That said, there’s roughly a 0% chance of this happening.

Sandow's first promo was trash while Moxley's first promo was fire. He can't be Sandow.

I mean people were hyped to see Moxley in WWE for a reason. He's a million times more talented than Sandow in every way, and I was a Sandow fan in WWE. So I'd be really surprised.

Sandow Sandowed because WWE was so good at hiding his weaknesses. We've already seen Mox be compelling without WWE producing him.

well he was pretty damn over when he had complete control over his character before going to WWE (even if it was in many ways a ripoff of the Heath Ledger Joker)

Mox was willing to destroy his body at CZW for $25 and a hot dog. I don't think they are really comparable

Won’t happen. Mox has more personality than Sandow. If he can be himself he should come across even more genuine and likable because he’ll be much more comfortable with himself.

Eventually, it will happen with someone. It will most definitely happen the other way around, too. Mox just isn't the guy its happening with.

It would seem Moxley has a better track record based on that. Sandow had a few stints in developmental. Between them he worked Puerto Rico and some indies. I think he went by Arron Idol Stevens. What I have seen of his pre-Sandow stuff is decent. But yea Ambrose/Moxley had built up a good rep from his work in the indies. Was one of the better guys in CZW.

It would seem Moxley has a better track record based on that. Yeah, Aaron Stevens got his start in Jim Cornette's OVW and was the quintessential mid-2000s solid and unspectacular talent that the WWE could recruit since all of the people who wanted to become wrestlers thanks to the attitude era went on the indies and the Fed couldn't let those marks be rewarded. He caught fire by being the only guy on a given show giving it his all alongside the best heel of his generation. Moxley by comparison worked his way up through various indies and got his shot because of what he was doing. He is not going to fail in the execution, he might end up failing for some different reason, but his execution is going to be solid as a rock.

I think a serious injury could be the only thing to hurt Moxley's career. He had a large fanbase before WWE. Sandow should've just stayed as close to his WWE character as legally possible

John Moxley worked his way up the wrestling food chain before signing for the WWE. He's proven that he knows how to work outside of the rigid WWE system, unlike Sandow. Ssndow has spent the bulk of his career in the WWE system, or in promotions with ties to them, he never learned how to market himself the way Moxley did ah he never had to so got found out. Sandow is the embodiment of all the shortcomings of the OVW/DSW/FCW system, great look, but his instincts are lacking.
