My only complaint so far is that the game wasn’t meant for combat.

So did anyone else finish this?
Overall, I'd say I liked it a lot and potentially could have loved it had I been more into the story. I echo the people complaining about the last five or so hours as it's all pretty much combat capped off by two hours of mostly cut scenes. But I'm still in the camp that feels this game was a worthwhile experience and deserving of its mostly positive reviews, it's just not for everyone and has very apparent flaws.

I just finished it today, liked the ending for the most part. I think the early reviews would’ve been better if ign and other reviewers had access to the online experience because without it the game sucks, I made the mistake of doing an order while offline and it wasn’t pretty.

Been playing for about 5 hours now, what a strange game. And I don't just mean the usual Kojima long-winded story nonsense. I'm basically just running around with stuff on my back trying not to fall over, yet I keep playing for some reason.

I got to play again today for the first time in a bit. I'm hoping to play a good amount more over the next week before going back to work. I'm nearing the end of the Fragile Episode, so I know I have a lot left to do...but I also feel like I've done a ton.
I can totally understand why people do not like this game, but I really enjoy it. Time really flies when I'm playing it. I think I get caught up in it because it truly does feel like you're alone (as Sam) in the world and working towards building and helping make the connections. It's intense, but relaxing at the same time...somehow.

Got to play a lot more the last two days. Really have fallen in love with this game. I didn't expect to enjoy it this much.
I'm past the middle and things have really picked up. While the game has gotten a lot tougher since the beginning, the mechanics and strategies are so familiar at this point that it actually feels easier than when I first started, if that makes sense. At the beginning, getting a feel for the game definitely takes some time. However, once you spend more and more time with Sam, you just know how to work with his abilities and the environment.
And man...the environment. Whew! I really get wrapped up in it and very much appreciate the effort that was put into creating it. It's beautiful and frustrating at the same time and I love it.

Man, I had a crazy delivery today. First I got attacked by some MULEs and ended up killing four of them, so I had to take the bodies to a furnace to get rid of them. Then I was attacked AGAIN by MULEs, but this time I definitely didn't want to kill them so I took them all out with stun bombs. And all of this happening while I'm delivering a {Spoiler}{Spoiler}bomb that will explode after taking too much damage . It all ended with a climb up a mountain with soothing music playing. I love this game.

Anyone still playing this? I started last week and I love it so far. I'm still only on episode 2 despite putting 10 hours into it and just did the wind farm mission. That was a bitch getting past the BT's and getting up to it. But managed it in the end.
My one complaint is not being able to listen to the music while taking in the beautiful scenery while on a long mission.

I'm a huge Metal Gear fanboy but bounced off of Death Stranding pretty hard when it first came out, and ended up trading it in. The PC release gave me the itch to try it again and I've been enjoying it much, much more this time around, though there's been a couple of moments in Episode 3 when I wanted to say "**** this" and give up. It seems like every time the game comes close to overburdening me with bullshit it gives me some new toy or feature to play around with that pulls me back in.

I didn’t get very far into this before something else distracted me. I tried to pick it up recently, but had forgotten how to play and immediately got mauled by the BTs. Definitely something I need to get back into when I’m over my current Soulslike kick.

So far like 3 hours in and having fun just moving around
Got my ass kicked by BT's but know you get shit later to help with that so it keeps me going. For a game that is "barren" in terms of interactions in the open world that you are used to, it doesn't make it boring or feel empty.
Traversing and just walking is a lot more fun then you would think

If you’re getting really sick of walking, hang in there, you’ll find things to travel easier/faster.

If you’re getting really sick of walking, hang in there, you’ll find things to travel easier/faster. I'm sure the walking will get tedious at some point but right now even tho i'm going long distances I don't feel bored I think it helps that you have to keep focused when walking. You can't just push the analog up forward and be on auto pilot because you can fall and f*** up your cargo or you might miss something in the world
