I remember when The Shield first showed up people said Rollins had Jeff Hardy-esque face written all over him while Ambrose was top heel material, so people were surprised when Rollins was the one to turn and become a solo heel. Turns out Ambrose was a great babyface while Rollins had it in him to be a damn good heel (until he won the title and became The Authority's bitch).

The best part about Rollins turning on the Shield is that random fan screaming "NOOOOOO" as Rollins swings the chair at Roman.

Two things, the audible reaction from the audience after Seth hits Roman with the chair was awesome and I wish the commentary would have just shut up while Seth was assaulting Dean with a chair because stunned silence would have sold the moment so much better than a bored sounding JBL

I like the look on Seth’s face right afyer he hits Roman. It’s like he isn’t sore he did the right thing. But then he goes all in. No doubt it’s an iconic moment in wrestling.

But in hindsight Cole and JBL's quivering lips reaction to it hasn't aged well. We needed JR for that, screaming with righteous disgust "BAH GAWD SETH NO! THOSE MEN ARE YOUR BROTHERS! DON'T DO THIS. NO! SETH ROLLINS IS A JUDAS A MAN WHO HAS DESTROYED EVERYTHING HE HAD FOR THE AUTHORITIES PIECES OF SILVER! WHAT A VILE HUMAN BEING BAH GAWD" and so on... You could say that for literally any big heel moment of the last twelve years. The one instance I really think Cole did better than JR would have was Punk beating Cena at MITB 2011. The subdued "Oh my God" when Punk won was perfect. His tone of "holy shit, it happened" was 100x better than what would have probably been typical over the top "BAH GAWD CM PUNK BY GAWD!" from JR.

5 years and I don't think we've gone 3 weeks in that time without Cole reminding us about the Shield or them having some kind of reunion. At least it's finally dead now and we can have time to miss it.

I remember seeing that and thinking "there's your number 1 star, right there" I guess WWE read my thoughts and figured I meant Roman Reigns.

Also, and I absolutely know the answer, why did Roman go after the Authority and Dean go after Seth? Seth attacked Roman first and the most so why wouldn’t you go after the guy who turned your back on you and Dean go after the guy who helped turn their friend? And if not, why not the both of you team up to kill two birds with one stone? It bothered me at the time, especially with how those promos went.

My interpretation(I need a head-canon to make sense of WWE's angles) is that Dean is the type of character to take a backstabbing personally and directly, so his vendetta was with Seth because he was shocked his partner would do that. I see Roman as the type to look at the root cause and wants to fight the Authority for basically corrupting his friend and turning Seth against Roman and Dean.

That...actually seems really logical as a reason. I can get behind that.

It genuinely terrifies me that 2014 was half a decade ago. It still feels so recent.
