This move from WWE is *blatantly* illegal and if anybody with any power to enforce laws gave a damn about rasslin, MLW would see one hell of a windfall. Then again, the WWF was built on doing stuff that should have seen them run afoul several different anti-monopoly laws, but again, “it’s just wrestling. So who cares.” It's Fox's call, not WWE's. If they thought a deal with MLW was worth it, they'd tell WWE "too bad."

From Fightful. Although WWE doesn't have a streaming deal with Fox and Tubi, there's an ongoing issue with plans for another third party wrestling company that had landed a deal with Tubi, which Fightful has since identified as MLW. However, shortly before the deal was to be announced in August, WWE learned about it. A source close to Fox indicated that WWE did not respond favorably to the deal. As a result, the future of that third party deal was in question. In asking around for an official comment on the matter, Fightful did not get one from either MLW or WWE. Fox declined to comment. I remember Court teasing they had a deal with someone but it was never announced I wonder if this was why

And that was likely going to be azteca underground which makes sense considering Tubi carries LU right now and explains why MLW have not been really mentioned it at all apart from when Cesar/Dario shows up to make a match to remind us hey he runs azteca underground. And also likely why the tapings in september did not happen. Hope it still happens...f*** it MLW go try for El Rey since they are back and got up a channel on roku now. Oh and usual f*** WWE lol. the tapings didn't happen iirc because they were supposed to be in either Texas or Florida but since the Delta Variant was so bad there they decided not to do it

Azteca Underground was to be taped in Tijuana alongside The Crashs first show back and it was stated that Azteca was using a totally seperate roster so I doubt the Dallas tapings had any affect on a show being taped in Tijuana.

I think that main event changed a lot of people's opinions on Hammerstone though. He looked good in there in spite of the injury. It was a good heavyweight slugfest, which if they're smart MLW could really make into the signature calling card of their brand: Big ass Hossfights. No one else does it right now, and they've got a GOOD selection of big men.

So I haven't watched Alpha, is it still Rich and Saint Laurent on commentary? Wonder which is getting booted. Really enjoyed Joe on commentary for the late PWO/PRIME.

Hammerstone has vacated the Openweight Championship.
Never a fan when a double champ does that

Especially since he was the only champ of it

This was the first MLW show I've watched in years and... I don't get it. The wrestling was great, don't get me wrong. But the clashes in tone are freaking jarring. On one hand, they want to go all in on realism. Different fighting styles! Fight teams! Weight classes like UFC! (Their comparison, not mine.) On the other, Hammerstone is in a war with Cobra from GI Joe, complete with scenery chewing promos and a goofy logo. And let's not forget Cesar Duran and the ridiculous "expose."
Is it always like this?

Is it always like this? To an extent, but it's gone well off the rails since coming back from the pandemic break. Especially the Hammerstone stuff.

That videos actually sums up why I like companies like MLW and IMPACT.
AEW is to normal. Give me great wrestling and ninjas and zombies. Better yet zombie ninjas.
