The Yu-gi-oh thread made me think of this. When I was a teenager I bought a LOT of trading cards, mostly for Yu-gi-oh and Pokemon, and spent more time than I can remember building decks for them. Between the two different games I'll bet I spent at least $300 in cards. Unfortunately, I never actually got to use them because I lived in a tiny town where none of the other kids played the games. I remember looking online to see if there might be any tournaments going on nearby, but never found anything. And a few years later when I went to college in a bigger city that might have had more people interested in them, I had already stopped caring, and of course, when I found a shop I could sell them back to, I got less than $50 for all of them. So what do you regret spending too much time or money on? Games, TV shows, hobbies... ex-boy/girlfriend?

I'm prone to having hobbies and collections, spending money on them and then losing interest.
Notable ones are dinosaur fossils, comics and airplane models. Now its stock trading.
I don't regret any. Comics I still read today, albeit online, but it was collecting that made me a fan, My fossils havent lost value, if I sell, i'll get the same for tgem. Aircraft models I enjoyed when I did them.

I bought into Sega's hype/marketing so I bought a Game Gear, a Sega CD, and a Sega 32X all of which I regretted for various reasons. By 1996 I was done with Sega consoles altogether.

Acting classes. I’m a character actor and I embrace that, you don’t need a lot of study and training for it.

Dexter. I tapped out after the awful season 6 but should have a lot sooner.

This one girl who I was talking to years ago. Don't ask why I did this, but she went through depression because her boyfriend sort of lost contact with her and to her, in order to cheer her up, she would have me buy My Little Pony trading cards and toys for her daughter, who didn't like me. Like I said, don't ask why I went with it, but even when I tried to say no, she would say that I am disappointing her and such.
She has since gotten back with that guy and we are friendly, if friends, but at the same time, I felt like I was manipulated into spending money and that I was bleeding myself dry.
As for anything else, I remember paying full price for a game that I didn't think was that good. I kind of enjoyed it, but it wasn't worth the $50 I spent on it. I later sold it, then bought it again much later for much cheaper.

The amount of time I've spent on Overwatch. Frustration and feeling spent by the end of a session wasn't the feeling I have ever wanted from a vide game. Alos the impulse buys I did on steam for games I've never played.

One of the pre-Day of Reckoning Gamecube wrestling games, I forget which one, but it was just so rough around the edges. I still liked it fine enough, but I didn't get my money's worth compared to the PS2 ones.

Spent 1500 on building my own screaming gaming PC with an i7-6700k and a 980ti back when those were the hot shit.
Played an hour or two of The Witcher, not the new one but the original from 2009. And that’s it.
Turns out I enjoy building a PC much more than gaming on one. More of a console guy.

Hmm a few friendships when I was in my teens where I'd buy people gifts and never get anything in return. I was a "nice girl" so it always took me awhile to figure out that it was just one-sided nonsense and stop wasting my money.

I used to collect action figures and stuff. I mean, they're cool and all, but what a waste of money.

Yu-Gi-Oh cards. I spend a ton of money on them only to be mediocre at best. Learned the hard way it was a super expensive hobby. It felt like something that was either go all in or don't go in at all.
Selling most my cards did land me a Gamecube with Gameboy player, so there's at least a happy ending to all of this.

Time? Game of Thrones, I guess. I read all of the books, which apparently are never going to be finished. Then I invested in the show which ended with a wet fart.
Money? X-Box One. I bought one on Black Friday a couple of years ago. I played through Halo 5 and Gears of War 4, then never turned the thing on again. I've thought about getting Game Pass, but that would just be investing more money into something I've already wasted enough on.

I wish I could like this a million times. Hell, not just the wedding, but every single thing I ever did for that cheating wench.
