I mean to the point that there is enthusiasm in doing labor or anything like that? Here's what I mean: Every time my dad is off, it always seems like a day to do yard work or something. I have even asked him if he ever considers giving himself a rest by starting on another painting or something like that. I get that some people want to get things done, but it seems like it's become a hobby of some sort.
I don't mind doing the work, but I look at work as just that, work. If something should be done, I'll do it, but I'm not enthusiastic about it.
This is just a question if you know anybody like this. That's all.

“Enjoy” might be a strong word, but I find what I do stimulating, it fills my time, and I get a sense of accomplishment out of it and a feeling I’ve earned my leisure time.
Was unemployed for about a month last year and while I had plenty of money, sitting around all day is boring af and puts you way out of step with the world. I definitely prefer work to that.

You'll be happy in your work if you're in love.

I mean it depends on the environment I guess at any given place but at my old job at Disneyland, yeah, lotta enthusiasm and love for the jobs. I’d say the majority.

I enjoy my job. Given the choice, of course, I'd be at home playing on the ps4 or something. But as far as jobs go, I tend to enjoy mine.
Theres some days I'm bored or can't be bothered.

I really like my current job, although I Wouldn't consider it labor intensive (The most physical part of the day is me walking around the building for about an hour in my downtime

I have no strong feelings about my actual job either way. I just accept the fact that I have rent and bills to pay, thus I need a job. That's just the way life currently works. I also like most the guys I work with and bullshitting with them, talking about sports, girls whatever.
However, there are 2 or 3 people I work with who literally come in every morning all high energy and loud and all excited to work, as if it's the coolest thing ever. I find them all to have several traits of sociopaths.

Speaking as someone who inherited an overgrown yard from a previous tenant: yard work can absolutely be cathartic if need be. I enjoy the hell out of taking my chainsaw and cutting back sections, carrying huge branches and logs to the scrap pile, seeing actual progress made while listening to whatever music I have (montage music makes it even more fun for me).
It's a solo effort that I don't rush, kind of my personal time that doesn't involve gaming or wrestling. I love my job, but I enjoy that time as well because I get my hands dirty and see results each time.

Ironic that this thread appeared, as I'm just getting off work late after we fought with a buck naked woman with dentures that was trying to swallow meth. She ended up cuffed and thrown into the restraint chair while vomiting uncontrollably.
And yes, I do enjoy my job.

As an attorney there are definitely job crazy people around. I mean I work for a 92 year old judge who has little sign of slowing down, for one.
I think those people are daft and if I won the lottery or something I'd probably never have a real job again.
In terms of actual physical work, my grandpa always had his projects until he 1) fell off a ladder doing crown moulding at age 90, then 2) fell THROUGH the ceiling of his first floor and down the stairs to the basement as he was trying to crawl through the attic to hook up his TV antenna at age 92. His projects are now done, and he has definitely slowed down mentally because of it. Damn fool man has 6 kids and I don't know how many grandchildren that would have been there in 10 minutes to help him out with that one.

Okay, I see that some people do enjoy their jobs. I mean I did enjoy what I did when I was working (Then I got fired for reasons I will not share; Let's just say it made me see that the work environment was terrible because of the rats and snakes in the workplace), but what about doing yard work or housework?

I loved my job as a youth worker from 2001 to 2009, until I got a new boss who was absolutely horrible, I ended up leaving in 2010. So yeah I look back on it fondly and don't let the last year spoil it for me.

I hate working.
That’s why I am studying for a marketing/sales degree. Hopefully then I will at least enjoy what I’m doing.
