Jesus, I only upgraded to the current gen last year. I suppose the clincher for me will be if it's digital-only or if it has a disc drive. No drive, no buy.

He’s the executive editor at Game Informer so it’s not like he wouldn’t know this stuff but probably all still up in the air right now.

And if that turns out to be true then Microsoft delivering the "first punch" will get nuked. Going be a wait and see approach though because since Microsoft took the first shot, Sony can counterpunch without feeling the need to rush anything out there

Why did they drop out of doing E3 this year? They know what they're doing, I believe.

let's see if they've learned their lesson about shooting themselves in the foot by announcing stupid shit like you can't share games

They've been dropping hints about the PS5 for months, they know what they are doing in that regard because once they pulled out if gives Microsoft the early advantage of hype. However, not really a bunch of hype around the new consoles yet so it was a strategic move on their part Sony opting out the E3 was more them wanting to do their own thing

If Sony doesn't get with the cross platform stuff it won't matter to me how powerful the PS5 is. I play a lot of online shooters and stuff so cross play for a larger, more stable player base and sustained longevity have me pretty excited. I won't have to hop on the newest game every year to avoid a dwindling player count and crappy connections.

Hey, I’m a Sony nut, so this is wonderful for me.

I like owning a physical copy and getting all the stuff that comes with it. I know companies like EA are pushing for disk drive. A lot of the FIFA audience is located in regions that don't have strong enough internet to download the game in a timely manner.

Man, it's a messed up world when EA are on the right side of an argument.

So was the PS3 against the 360 and game developers supposedly had trouble developing games for it. I used to say it's all about the games, but it seems like a lot of games come out for all the systems nowadays outside of games owned by the system creators. This generation I went with the ps4 for God of War and Spider-man. I've never been a big FPS person so Halo means nothing to me.
