I gave this a try and it started off strong. But the endless waves of enemies bored me when you play as Hulk and the fact Hulk was so easy to kill. I mean, come on, Im Hulk. It shouldnt take me five punches to smash a robot. Too many enemy waves bores me because it just becomes going through the morions. Guardians of the Galaxy had the same issue Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy are both way better as things you watch someone else play on YouTube; the stories of both games are pretty good, they just suuuuck to play. On the whole, it really comes off like Square Enix didn't get what people wanted with these games. I want to play as The Avengers, not like, one of them at a time. I hated that so much about the gameplay too; I'd get to a spot where the game tells me "Hulk can smash this", Hulk is RIGHT THERE IN THE LEVEL WITH ME, and I have to come back later because I can't just switch to playing as him. Along with many other reasons, the "games as a service" thing crippled any fun to be had from a gameplay perspective. Guardians is even worse because you're stuck as Star-Lord. Why? Couldn't think to do anything with Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot? I think I said this before, but Sonic Heroes should not be better at team gameplay than games that came out a year or two ago.

GTA V perfected character switching during a mission. But yet, 2 big games made years after GTA V, that were based on freaking superhero teams don't allow for character switching. Boggles the mind.

And it's not like Crystal Dynamics is some fly-by-night developer. They have such a rich history of great games. Unfortunately, Square Enix just saw a quick buck and typical Triple A publisher exploitation instead of letting CD do their thing.

Same studio behind the two Adam Jensen Deus Ex games.
