I’ve been watching a lot of Seinfeld lately. Well, more like having it on as background noise. Anyway, I’m amazed at how easily George and Kramer walk into these amazing job opportunities. George only has a bachelor’s degree and Kramer doesn’t even have that.
Needless to say my experience has varied. Can people really just walk into these amazing opportunities or just get them through connections?
I’ve been thinking a lot about quitting my current job lately. Of course I don’t want to leave until I have something else lined up. Right now I’m of the mindset that there is nothing like being your own boss. So I’ve been working up building a small business selling stuff online. Of course it will be years for it to become a full-time job and even then it is not a sure thing. So in the meantime I’d rather do something that isn’t so ill fitting for my personality (I’m an introvert at a super extroverted job).

The only he had was at H&H Bagel and got fired from that, after he went on a wildcat strike. The one at the office, he didn’t even really work there.

Accounting
You're starting off around 40k with no experience and can sometimes be bumped up to more if you have a little bit of experience and firms are willing to teach you. Once you reach 5 years in, you're getting 55k offers
For example with myself, i'd approaching 5 years but i've had internship experience before which was required for me to graduate, i've went on interviews where the job was offering 50-55k when I was in my first 2.5 years of my working experience

Start and run your own business.
It'll take a while before it really takes off and goes anywhere, but if/when it does...

It's been my experience that no matter what the job is, what the qualifications are for it, and what kind of education they claim you need for it, what they're all really looking for is a salesman. If you can BS your way through an interview, you can get just about any job imaginable. Sadly the inverse is also true.

Start and run your own business. It'll take a while before it really takes off and goes anywhere, but if/when it does... IMHO this is not good advice. Starting and running your own business is very risky and there's no guarantee that it ever will take off and you're just as likely to lose money or be in a bad financial situation for a long time before ever turning a profit.

Starting your own business is actually a great idea. That is as long as you don’t depend on it as your main source of income until you have a vast amount of savings to live off of.
