I loved the first one, was really let down by the second one. Assuming the crappy American element is missing this time, there is potential. But probably not. Vaughn is best when adapting Nihilistic comics into palatable movies. The original work is a bit rough.

Nitpicking here, but the idea of an intelligence agency is to gather intelligence. What the Kingsmen (and in the James Bond movies, MI6) usually seem to do is show up, make a cursory effort to confirm someone is a bad guy, then kill everyone in the area, which would be more akin to a cross trained special forces group like CIA SAD or the SAS. I’m not sure why they don’t market it as such.

I’m not sure why they don’t market it as such. well first no one wants to a see a movie where James Bond's mission is to photograph and record a mid-level German official having an extramarital affair, then blackmail that official into providing regular updates on Germany's trade negotiations with Singapore second, they don't market Bond as an intelligence officer, they market him as a super spy assassin. he's the guy they send in to finish the job after others have done the legwork to get them to where they are at the start of the movie. and third, Bond does do a fair amount of intelligence work. his mission assignments are usually broad and very lacking in the fine details department ("I want you to find GoldenEye. Find who took it, what they plan to do with it, and stop it."), and usually fall into one of two categories: MI6 knows of a specific person but not what they're doing or why (e.g. Goldfinger), or MI6 knows of a specific incident but not who did it or why (e.g. GoldenEye), and its up to Bond to fill in the who, what, when, where, why and how, and well as stopping them. its never a clear cut mission of "This is Baron Evil McBadguy. We think he's planning to blow up the Vatican. Go to his house and check his garage for explosives. If he has some, kill him."
