I did. Once. The devil has two left feet. I told him to stick to playing the fiddle.
But I remember seeing this at the drive-in with my mom and dad. I was six years old, and the only Batman I knew up to that point was the 60s tv show. So, needless to say, this movie blew my mind. It was a little dark (literally) on the drive-in screen, but I loved every second of it. Still do.
One great Batman related memory was me and my buddies getting drunk one night, and we began talking about this movie, and how it was perfectly casted. But then we started wondering what it would have been like if Jack and Michael hadn't gotten the roles.
So, I throw out, what if Al Pacino was The Joker? And summoning my best Pacino voice from Scent of a Woman, I say the, "He stole my balloons!" line. And I thought we were all going to piss ourselves laughing.
Batman '89 is incredible. Faithful to the comics? Absolutely not, but god damn, it's entertaining.

This movie will always hold a place in my heart. It’s actually the very first movie I can actually remember watching. Saw it for the first time on TV during the time Batman Returns was in theatres.

I’m laughing on the outside, my smile is just skin deep. If you could see inside I’m really crying, you might join me for a weep.

I've been dead once already; it's very liberating. You might think of it as...therapy.

I remember collecting the trading cards for the Batman movie, so I'd 'seen' a lot of it before I ever saw the movie. Still wasn't disappointed when I did get to watch it though. Keaton is still my favourite Batman, and Vicki Vale is the quintessential Batman love interest, for me.
Jack Nicholson's Joker is definitely influenced heavily by the 1960s TV show, but still exudes so much menace.
I think I like Batman Returns even more though. Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman was so good.

Poor Bob. Based on the surveillance photos he took for Joker, it's clear he was the best photographer in town. Sadly, when you're born looking like Tracey Walter and not Kim Basinger, the life of a hoodlum beckons.

Ah yes, he is fear, he is the night, and his first act onscreen is getting shot in the chest and falling over. HEROISM.

I still wonder how the bullet had to enter Jack's face to fail to kill him and only severing the nerves in his face.

I remember at summer daycare one kid was a huge Bob mark. Had his collectible cards and everything. Oddly enough at the time I...wasn't thrilled with this movie. I probably like it better now than I did then, but I was 9-10 years old when Batman was first released and perhaps a little young to really get it.

In the Axis Chemical Plant. Following Jack shooting Eckart, Jack tries to shoot Batman, Batman deflects the bullet with his arms and then it ricochets into his face which causes him to fall over the railing. At least that's how I understood that scene.

At least that's how I understood that scene. And IIRC the bullet pierced him across the face / thru both cheeks, creating scars that the chemicals would've then warped into that smile.
