The Nostalgia Critic looks at Barney's Great Adventure.
(Language Warning).
This movie is cotton candy- all sweetness and bright colors and no real substance.

I remember my aunts taking my younger cousins to see this. My youngest uncle and I went to see The Odd Couple II, but because my aunts wanted to take off after Barney's Great Adventure, they had me and my uncle get out of our movie so we can go home, especially with my younger cousins anxious to go home. They didn't want to wait for our movie to end.
I still haven't seen this. I have heard that it was cheesy as hell and after watching this video, I was right.

You know, I've always dreamed of one day having the editing software to completly re-render the 1998 Godzilla purple and naming that movie "Barney" just to troll my nephew or niece

Why do people on this website still advertise the Nostalgia Critic?

Why do people on this website still advertise the Nostalgia Critic? 'Cause I think he's still (mostly) pretty funny... when he doesn't go overboard with skits, anyway.

I think he might mean considering the certain backstage politics of Channel Awesome. I'm not gonna hound people for what they watch, but I will say there is a reason that Nostlagia Critic threads on here aren't as lively as they used to be many years ago.

I walked away for a while. The owner of the company is slime. There is no question about that. I don't know about the Walker's themselves. I would think that they had to know something was going on with some of the most egregious items and they definitely knew how the other content creators were being treated, so that does not reflect well of them at all. As a result, I am torn. I actually liked the material he puts out, especially when he takes a more balanced approach to the material, but damn does it not feel right giving that guy any money from ads.

I quit watching him years before anything came out because I thought he had become incredibly stale in comparison to all of his peers who seemed to have evolved somewhat while he has stagnated.

Whenever Doug focuses on reducing skits, his show was still relatively funny in my opinion. But of course the recent channel awesome mess in no way justifies me personally to continue watching the show. i would probably still watch if it weren't for the shadiness. The only way I'd pick up watching again is if Doug left channel awesome and personally apologized( one on one and in private) to all wronged peopled in this. Of course I'm not holding my breath on that.

Somehow, he managed to lose control over his own intellectual property and that property is about the only reason people are remotely interested in him. I mean, did anyone here watch the Bum Reviews? Did anyone really watch anything of his that was not NC? Then again, all of the online celebrity net worth sites say he has between $1.8M-4.5M, much of which is probably tied into the company, so I don't see how he could walk away regardless.

I watched Bum Reviews. In fact before the the drama stuff came out, one of the reasons I lost interest was because he stopped doing them.

He could break out by simply just being "Doug Walker" but doing the same schtick as the critic character. Theres some Lee way with only some minor changes. That wouldn't be the hard part. The challenge would be building back up his portfolio because channel awesome owns all of his episodes as the Nostalgia Critic. It still amazes me that he would signed over his character like that.

I only watch him to see the bad movies. Are there other reviewers anyone would recommend? Even though he's stuck by Doug in this mess of politics I would still recommend Brad Jones for bad film reviews. He does some good films that critics didn't give good reviews to as well but makes it work. Though, honestly I've stopped watching his stuff as well. Some of his comments on the backstage politics rubbed me the wrong way. Highly recommend to anyone looking to relive some old school Channel Awesome crossover stuff to check out Linkara's new audio drama A Voice in the Dark www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfGlCntLGnE

I only watch him to see the bad movies. Are there other reviewers anyone would recommend? I recommend Brandon's Cult Movie Reviews. He used to be part of CA but was one of the lower on the totem pole type of reviewers. He reviews movies more on the "really cult" side of things, although he does dabble in stuff that is more popular. Also, he's one of the more resident Godzilla reviewers (besides James of course). Highly worth checking out though.

There's also Good Bad Flicks, which has actually covered stuff that NC has done as well.
