It started on the SKY channel in like 86-88, that became SKY One in 1989 and that’s when I first remember it. It’s been on SKY Sports since 1992. PPVs before Sky Sports was born were in Sky Movies, my copies of SSlam 91, SurSer 91 and WM 8 are Sky movies. SS 92 was the first on Sky Sports When you think about it, 1992 was the perfect summer for all concerned. Sky were already preparing a huge push for their big sports channel when the Premier League was launched, they already had a contract with a sports-like company, the WWF to give them more content. The same WWF who just so happen to have a big British star who they could promote, and who are looking to expand in new markets after losing their top star and are in one of their most turbulent periods to the point they're willing to go overseas with one of their biggest events, with one of their biggest ever crowds in attendance. Yeah I remember it being a huge deal, I was not happy however as we didn’t have Sky Sports as no one in my house liked sports so I lost the PPVs. Luckily my aunt taped them for me for the next 3 years until we upgraded our package

Welp, looks like I’ll be cancelling Sky Sports then. Any idea what kind of price I’m looking at for BT Sports? £16 to have it added to sky through bt if you’re a bt phone or internet customer £10 to have it online if you’re a customer No idea if prices are different for non customers I only know these prices because I was comparing internet prices earlier and saw it.

Sky have done a really bad job of promoting WWE for the last few years. No wonder when WWE hoodwinked them with the Network shortly after their last deal was agreed...

I have BT Sport but the signal is pretty awful so probably won’t be keeping it much longer despite this new news.

Sky is 8.4/8.5 million homes in the UK Bt is in 2.2 million
This doesnt seem like a good idea on WWE part. ITV 4 is in 28 million homes.

Again, whole thing was probably because they didn’t have a choice. Sky wasn’t going to renew or if they did, the deal was a lot less then it was first time around and BT has the finances to pay at least some kind of money deal. And even with the amount of viewers that have Sky, only about 180,000 watch Live every week.

Still seems crazy they've both pissed away such a long mutually beneficial relationship. Understandable on both sides though.

Note the use of Becky in actual good ring gear for the promotional material.
Whoever created/pitched/approved her current gear should be fined.

It's a big sign of trouble if even Sky are saying "nah, we're good" with WWE.

What will Sky fill the space with? They already ruined Kabbadi. It certainly leaves a huge hole in their schedules. And unlike most sports it filled the schedules for a whole year. Prepare yourself for lots more drone racing, e-sports and a bunch of documentaries you have already seen a thousand times.

At least, there's no way 8.5m people have Sky Sports. As of 17/18, Sky were drawing an average of around 800,000 viewers for Premier League games vs 690,000 on BT Sport.

I think it's more potential availability rather than actual subscription.
