Especially considering that that drug was much more of a taboo subject 46 years ago (the woman is 46 years old, btw.) There are certain words/proper nouns that can be rejected by courts for being too controversial to be part of a person's name. Seriously, good for her though. She straight up made it her exact mission to succeed with that name, and she has so far, by far. Also, I think I know her cousin: "Coke Coke". Nice guy.

Why would a parent do that to a child? I mean, obviously, this story has a happy ending as she was able to overcome that name, but why did her parents put her behind that eight ball to begin with? Did they not think she would ever have to fill out job applications?

For the most part in America this is not true. There aren't a lot of naming laws in America. The few that due exist tend to be more because the official software can't handle it. Like being overly long, using pictographs, or numerals. and even that Varies by states, for instance Kentucky has NO laws when it comes to naming. |
