Latest update I'm reading on G1 in Dallas is that they're likely going to end up selling something closer to 8,000-10,000 tickets (not at all scientific, haven't seen the numbers myself); that'd be pretty solid, and would be their biggest non-MSG crowd in the US, but it'd still look odd in the closer to 20,000 capacity American Airlines Arena. Cuban must've really made it worth their while. That wouldn't be too bad actually, I was just looking at the tickets available and it seemed like less. I am sure Cuban gave them a deal on the building. 8,000 tickets sold would still be a $800,000 + gate(possibly close to a $1 million), considering the lowest priced tickets are listed at $85 and the highest are $300.

The problem is after New Japan, it kinda plummets. There's a similar dichotomy going on where New Japan has the largest pull in the country while the other promotions lack the influence they once did. DDT and Dragon Gate would be the best available options, given that NOAH is linked to Impact but in terms of size, it's not a great comparison. Probably not going to happen as long as AEW is in bed with OWE.

The worrying factor is that it’ll look pretty naff on camera and those aesthetics do matter.

They are only selling the lower arena, as long as that is full it will look fine.

In other words I’m hoping it’s not the same team than did the production for the msg show.

Have to figure that was mostly ROH's team on that one, but I'm not totally sure. If nothing else, AXS TV will be in for this one. Really, though, all I ask is that they properly mic up the crowd. I've said it before, but we were going apeshit at MSG for so much stuff, and every account I've heard from people who watched online is that it didn't really come across.
