Angel was a great show. The only think I disliked was the story with his son who was a really annoying character.

One thing I thought they did VERY well between Buffy and Angel was making sure that their timelines synced up. Every so often, there'd be a cross-over and more often than not, there would be a reference to it. For example, when Buffy died on her season finale, Angel found out at the end of his own. You can flip-flop episodes between the two until Buffy ends and everything lines up. In may cases, a spinoff will have a completely separate timeline and crossovers would be more random, if there are any to begin with.

Loved both Buffy and Angel growing up. While Buffy was the original and will always have the edge of being he original I feel I always enjoyed Angel more as over the whole run of the show the characters developed so much more. Angel also was a more consistent show in terms of quality. Buffy had a few lulls throughout its run but my memory of Angel is that it was always solid.
That's not to diminish how good a show Buffy was. Ask me another day and I could say I preferred Buffy. It's kinda like which is better Avatar:TLA or Avatar:TLOK? Really it depends on what mood you're in.

All I'm gonna say is:
Angel > Buffy
Fred > Cordelia (and Cordelia > Buffy)
Wesley > Everyone

Anybody else like the Wesley/Lilah relationship? Obviously Wesley and Fred were the shippers' choice, but I always enjoyed the evolution of Wes and Lilah - her openly and cynically trying to take advantage of him being exiled from Angel Investigations, him playing her while covertly helping Angel, hate-f***ing each other until they got to the point where there was absolutely some unspoken feelings between them. Wes saving her from the Beast was a genuine mark our moment, and the scene where he's talking to Lilah's body/his hallucination of her before he has to decapitate her was one of the strongest scenes of the entire show.

That's just crazytalk. Cordelia > Faith > Lilah > everybody else. I liked Wesley and Lilah, two damaged people finding each other. And making each other better, Lilah deeply cared as much as she could for Wesley till her death, and Wesley cared for her beyond her death.

Yeah, I liked Wes and Lilah. It didn't hurt that Lilah was hot as hell. The Entertainment Weekly video was nice, but they didn't get into the recurring cast. On a show like Angel, a good bench of characters is very important. But no interview with Lilah, Christian Kane or even talk about Lorne who joined the main cast in the last season.
Fred is better than all. It's just a fact of life there. Faith might have been if she never came back from season 3. That debut season was such a high for her that there was no way any appearance afterward could live up to it. It also doesn't help she was in the weak season 7, I didn't care about any character in that season except Spike.
