WCW saying that Mankind winning the title would put asses in the seats. Clearly wrong, because everyone was on their feet

Dusty and Hogan partying with a dead John Belushi. Not quite an exaggeration, but you could tell when WWE Home Video had no clue about the history of things. Prime example was the Dusty Rhodes documentary where someone talked about Dusty having grand Hollywood-style visions, followed up with a clip of freaking RoboCop in WCW - which happened while Dusty was in the WWF, so he had no influence over that cluster of a situation. Another exaggeration I have heard Dusty blamed for is the Black Scorpion. In a shoot interview with Ole Anderson, Ole is asked about the Black Scorpion angle and Ole responds, "oh that was all Dusty's, bullshit!" Black Scorpion made his final appearance at Starrcade 90 in December 1990. Dusty didn't return to WCW until January 1991! Although I have heard rumors that Dusty was already booking WCW during his last few months in the WWF, so who knows?

I don't know what my favorite exaggeration in wrestling is but you can bet whatever it is, it came from the mouth of Gorilla Monsoon. Whether it be Hulk Hogan being the "greatest professional athlete in the world today". A medical term and body part that he had to have made up. Or claiming there were "30,000 screaming fans and 20,000 more that had to be turned away at the door" in a venue that holds 18,000 people, Monsoon was full of it, um, I mean full of them.

Any of the terms he used that I can remember are real body parts. The external occipital protuberance really is a area on the back of the head. To add to the point about Dusty's booking, this is really just an example of Dusty getting things mixed up, but he claimed on the 2009 WCW DVD that Jim Herd was in charge when they did the "Lost in Cleveland" skits with Cactus Jack. Herd was long gone by then.

"I'm lean and mean Brother because I ate at Pastamania"
Nah, it's because Vince started testing before your left and you were cycling off.

Another I thought of:
Triple H being jobbed out after the Curtain Call. Sure, he ended up not winning KOTR. But I think he did pretty well, considering he was IC champ months later. And they always show highlights of him in that hog pen match, which was like half a year before Curtain Call.

Back when I was a kid I thought those were just terms he spouted off the top of his head because nobody had Google back then to fact check him. 😆

This one used to come around a lot years ago but Raven: Great mind for this business.
Really? What has he booked? Good character work. But what other than a cool ECW character indicates that if you were to hand Raven the book, storylines would flourish?
Also, 100,000 fans at Huntington Beach for Bash at the Beach 1995.

But what other than a cool ECW character indicates that if you were to hand Raven the book, storylines would flourish? IIRC, he had a big hand in ECW's booking in general before he left for WCW. He also had a hand in the Hardcore Division and his work on Heat with the WWF and a bunch of stuff in TNA.

I know, that promo was on the first Nitro, but he was noticeably smaller in his latter WWF run before he went to WCW, because of the short lived crackdown.
