Because this packet was in a pack of fresh sushi that I bought 2 days ago: Even if April 26th, 2016 turns out to be the "packaged on" date of that packet, I still wonder if soy sauce can last 3 years.

Isn’t it mostly salt? I’d say probably forever. It’s sealed.

It's probably going to depend on the temperature it was kept at some, but being sealed and a bunch of saltiness, it's likely fine.

Looking it up, it'll go stale in like 2-3 years depending on how it's stored.
So. Go on. Live on the edge.

Considering that it is sealed, it should be fine. I just finished a bottle I had for over five years and it was perfectly fine. Just check for an off smell or fuzzy bits.

You absolutely sure that sushi was fresh? I mean, unless it was still flopping around....

Soy sauce is fermented beans anyway. The older it is, the more fermentation it gets!

Also, random thought I have about soy sauce. Once, in a cooking show, there was something about roasted rice balls with soy sauce, and butter.
Tried it out, but failed in a way. Didn't get that grilled rice ball, but it made for a wonderful fried rice. Melt some butter, pout a bit of soy sauce, then pour it on some cooked rice in a pan. Appetizing smell, and works great for a plain fried meal to go with the rice. Also tried some raw egg on hot rice. Dropping a small bit of butter and pouring soy sauce on the rice with raw egg makes for another good rice meal to go with fried food. Sticky, flavored rice mixed with salty fried food is good.
