On one hand, awesome. He needed a good win to keep from reaching full goober status and Joe has better things to do than slum it in the midcard.
On the other, this is the sixth US title change this year and it's only June, plus it probably isn't a good sign for Mysterio being back soon given it essentially renders the feud between him and Joe completely pointless.
On a foot, bet Aleister Black is kicking himself for going solo, all while sitting in his room wishing someone would let him out.

My idea in the live thread was to have Richolas hold it for a while and face Black for it (WILDCARD!!!) at WM, but since there hasn't been a good US title reign in like 3 years, I won't get my hopes up.
This potential AJ vs. Ricochet feud sounds great at least, especially if AJ's a heel with Gallows and Anderson.

Good. Now he can put on some dope matches while Joe moves onto Seth and actually win.

Badass Joe gunning for Lesnar was one of the better booked moments in years, I’ll happily see them do it again

I was very happy with this. It was a really good match! Ricochet needs it, is clearly very over, and it also gives Joe an excuse to get out of the mid-card before it's too late and they miss out on him being a main event guy. At least, that's the hope. They have an opportunity to give Ricochet a good run out of this and hopefully rebuild Joe for the position he belongs in. I would certainly not complain about a Rey/Ricochet US title match and a Joe/Rollins WWE Universal title match at SummerSlam.

Personally, I would have liked for them to built up Ricochet winning his first main roster championship a bit, maybe have him nearly winning only for Joe to cheat to win or dare I say, win via his own kryptonite which is a roll-up. As for Samoa Joe getting moved into the main event picture, I feel like the ship has already sailed... Multiple times, so while I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the line he has a on-off match against Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship on a second or third tier PPV, it won't amount to anything more than him putting him over.

Joe/Rollins and Ricochet/AJ seem like 2 amazing feuds for the top mens titles on Raw.
Dare I dream

And right away he demonstrates he is up to the task of being US Champion by immediately losing clean.

Nobody has had what I'd even call a decent US title reign in like 3 years. I hope Ricochet can be the guy to change that, but I also thought Joe would be. Worst booked title in the entire company, even with the Universal.

Worst booked title in the entire company, even with the Universal. Looking I'd say the last decent run was.... Cena's fourth one. I didn't even actually like the Cena invitational, felt like all of the matches were just a bunch of mindless spotfests, but at least the belt was shown as important and was getting regular TV time. Rollins, Cena's fifth, Alberto, Kalisto, Alberto again, Kalisto again, Rusev, Reigns, Jericho, Owens, Styles, Owens again, Styles again, Corbin, Ziggler, Roode, Orton, Jinder, Jeff Hardy, Nakamura, Rusev again, Nakamura again, Truth, Joe, Mysterio, Joe again, they ALL sucked.
