RAW is live from Everett, Washington tonight, and while Stomping Grounds went south late in the show, there's quite a few stories coming out of it.
Baron Corbin thought he had outsmarted Seth Rollins and his frequent use of a chair by appointing Lacey Evans as the special guest referee for their Universal Championship match, but once Evans went for the champ's nether regions, The Man was summoned. Becky Lynch, who had successfully retained her RAW Women's Championship against Evans earlier in the night, came out and helped her boyfriend by taking Evans out, allowing Rollins to go on and retain the title once a regular referee stepped in. Although it was No Disqualification (at Corbin's behest), Corbin and Evans will not let this lie...
Samoa Joe's reprise as United States Champion did not last long, as Ricochet dethroned the Samoan Submission Machine to win his first main roster title. Shortly after the win, Ricochet was approached by AJ Styles and The Club, and the Phenomenal One issued a challenge for tonight. It's non-title this evening, but can The Face That Runs The Place dampen The One And Only's parade? And will Joe get involved?
It's somehow still not over between Roman Reigns and the duo of Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre, despite Reigns defeating the Scottish Psychopath last night. Shane immediately invoked The Roman Reigns Rule (aka The Wildcard Rule), and challenged Reigns to a Handicap Match for tonight - will Roman finish the rivalry for good?
Alexa Bliss was not able to claim the SmackDown Women's Title last night, thanks to the involvement of Nikki Cross. Bliss had the match won when Cross decided the time was right to get in the ring, allowing Bayley the time she needed to recover and hit Bliss with the Bayley to Belly to retain the title. Will Bliss blow up at her "best friend", or is Cross already onto her scheming?
When we left RAW last week, R-Truth was still the 24/7 Champion. Since then, Drake Maverick disguised himself as Carmella to win the title off him, and then Truth crashed Drake's wedding right after the vows were exchanged to roll him up the aisle and win the title back. How will Maverick react given the best day of his life was ruined?
All this plus new tag champs The Revival, tonight from 8/7c on USA - and now there's no wrestling during commercial breaks... not that there's much wrestling on the show anyway!
