How come there's nobody in this thread doing victory laps about Harry Giles putting up 23 and 8 in a blowout? You waited 2+ years for this night!! Just you wait until he signs with the Mavericks this offseason and him and Luka are teammates. Then Iβll be more insufferable than ever. Real answer; I donβt care. Until Vladeβs fired, I just donβt care. I mean, you should still be a little bit happy that your guy is fulfilling some of his promise. As a Miami Hurricanes football fan, the team has been largely irrelevant the last many years but still brought me a good deal of joy here and there. But I will never know the disappointment of being a Kings fan, but neither of us enjoyed 2002 because of referees.

Denver has gambled right
Took two highly talented people with injuries that could f*** them over and we have seen Bol Bol a little something already and Michael Porter Jr is finally arriving
34 points and counting against OKC

I didnβt buy his hype or health at all. Hopefully he keeps it up. Every team who didnβt take Bol Bol once he hit the second round are stupid, so again good for Denver. Also helps I donβt mind rooting for them a bit because they have Coach Malone.

MPJ nor Bol Bol would not work on half the teams if they arenβt patient with them and Denver had the resources to be patient and excellent trainers. MPJ is that scorer they needed and if he reaches his potential they have a squad

Plenty of those guys have failed to work out, but I mean where they went, it was worth the risk all day and I'm honestly surprised teams didn't best them to the punch. MPJ was at one point projected to go #2 overall, so even with the health concerns, you don't get many guys at that range with that potential. And Bol Bol should have been a pick in the 20s. I get that he didn't have a lot of college tape and was injured, but again, teams picking there rarely get a player of his ceiling.

If healthy and played a full season he was going top 10. People got scared with how tall he is knee injuries already was a scary proposition. I didn't think he would drop that far tho. Thought he would still go top 20 because from what we saw, he was fast for his size and dropping 3's like he was guard. He no doubt has the talent Same with MPJ. He was going to land 10-14 but everyone knew he was going to drop thanks to the back injury. Knicks could had taken him at 8 and I remember people being mad they didn't. I was fine with Knox. At that point Knicks couldn't afford to gamble and lose and Knox was projected to be a decent starter ala Wilson Chandler. Situations and circumstances is what seperates the winning cultures from the losing ones

Situations and circumstances is what seperates the winning cultures from the losing onesΒ Yeah, I had Bol Bol between 18-26 and MPJ between 8 and 13. I get why the Knicks wouldn't take him at that point because their cupboard was pretty bare and they couldn't afford to risk a top 10 pick on a guy who could end up not playing for them. But once you get to 12, you just don't see prospects of Porter Jr's caliber, I would have pulled the trigger again and again. But teams were scared off. It's crazy to me that teams were probably scouting him to go top 2, then end up at at the end of the lottery and he's there and they pass. I mean, Cam Reddish played BAD basketball and went from consensus top 3 pick to only 8th (iirc).

I mean, Cam Reddish played BAD basketball and went from consensus top 3 pick to only 8th (iirc). Cam came in with big time hype and had a bad college season where he didn't shoot at all. He's one of those players a team think they can mold but I believe I said in the thread last year his closest comparison is MKG who has had a decent but underwhelming career for a number 2 overall pick Teams after pick 12 had nothing to lose in picking MPJ and Denver jumped on that opportunity. If he works out you have your next star on the team without question It is the weird thing in the NBA tho. They will absolutely take someone unknown but has great measurable but get gun shy otherwise. Since Blake, it is not uncommon for your top pick to sit. If it is right for the organization they need to take that chance.

I remember there were some people saying Zion wouldn't be able to do anything against longer NBA defenders because he's only 6'6. Well, going against JJJ and JV, who have great length and are ok to phenomenal shot blockers, he has 16/7/5 in 20 minutes.
But yeah, he's gassed af. People need to shut the f*** up about his minutes. The Pels aren't out to get Zion, they are on the side of his development. Twitter can pipe down.

Memphis is going to be a good team in the next year or so
JV, JJJ, Morant, Clarke, Allen, etc is a good starting point. I wonder if they can acquire a vet like Holiday who is currently on the Pelicans down the line. THey need a 2 to compliment Morant.

I know I bet on Memphis, but the refs have been IMO more than a little favorable on Memphis foul calls. Trying to keep Pelicans relevant as long as possible maybe. The announcers noted how this is a must-win for them.

One thing they need is to just have never signed Kyle Anderson.

Zion got his second wind and just taking it to the inside easy

Zion got his second wind and just taking it to the inside easy He's so good moving laterally, so explosive, great body control, and has great touch. Really hard to defend what he does. Great down low in very little space. You can be in great position and still not be all that close to contesting his layups.

This team spaces very well and he just fits right in because he doesn't need the ball Once his conditioning is down, he's going to run people off the court

Memphis bummed my bet at the end Ja just never showed up. Dude is getting outplayed by Grayson rn, which is something I never thought I'd say. The FT disparity was pretty bad tho.

The FT disparity was pretty bad tho. 15 FT for Memphis and 29 for Pelicans They only made 11 of the 29. Ja needs to figure out a way to impact the game when he is off like that. Dillon Brooks is a f***ing Pecan. That damn makes JR Smith jealous with how quickly he shoots once the ball is in his hand
