LeBron clunks free throws and takes dumb threes, but man, the way he keeps people from even approaching the rim to free up rebounds is incredible. Him and Curry are so interesting off the ball to me.

Damn Bron was holding back tears with Allie there...dude's mind and heart was clearly in many places listening to that but amazing he managed to focus enough tonight.
Hope he takes tommorow just to get his mind and heart right because we need GOAT James saturday.

Well, we know what’s on the line Saturday night. Finals could be set by midnight Sunday. You know the Nuggets will leave it all on the line and the Lakers just have to play their game and get the ball in the paint.

I won’t break the politics rule but LeBron is clearly a great dude.
I think if the Lakers put this away the Heat could give them issues, Celtics less so. But man this duo is kinda unstoppable as long as anyone else steps up

I also wanted to mention, I love the discussion between JVG and Mark Jackson last night on who has the highest arc jumper. We got the rare Pervis Short and World B Free mentions. You forget how much history these guys know about basketball when they're caricatures with JVG complaining about the refs and Jackson spouting catchphrases. A lot of times they aren't informative and are just mute-worthy.

Untold stories in the NBA are so great, the recent Pearlman book about the Kobe Lakers is great, if you don’t wanna read it just listen to the latest Russillo podcast where he tells a bunch. Kobe was a very complex guy.

He's actually matured into a guy who mostly chooses his words wisely and is anywhere from encouraging to downright poignant.

Yeah, he's actually very perceptive about what he's been around and usually has good comparisons for players/attributes. I wonder if he's encouraged to be a catchphrase machine or if he knows he can just get by on it on autopilot like Heenan in WCW.

You can literally say “mama there goes that man” before every commercial break so I think he’s good there. Then you get him saying “people don’t talk enough about Melo’s defense” when there’s a decade of him being awful at it lol But being honest, I think faulty commentary like his makes the viewing experience kinda fun. Btw what drink should I have when I listen to Bill Simmons cry tonight?

Yea, it's the Jerry Lawler/Bobby Hennan thing of I will give you my best effort when i'm at the desk but don't ask me to put in work beforehand. Same with JVG JVG has a cushy job and didn't have to go back to coaching. Mark Jackson is in the Gruden seat of where he's probably getting paid enough to not coach but difference is Jackson has interviewed for jobs and did not get them.

Jackson just leans on it hard sometimes to where he sounds like video game commentaries where there's only like 7 canned responses to plays.

You know Bill is gonna 2x speed that subject and move on to talking about whatever garbage movie and tv podcast project he has instead. Oh, you guys are talking about game of thrones and the sopranos? What undriven snow!

Miami let this one get away
Pressure will be on because Miami had a chance to close this up

Miami let this one get away Pressure will be on because Miami had a chance to close this up C’s looked like a better team in the second half. Certainly played better perimeter defense. I think it’s more on the Celtics. They could have stopped just one of those 10+ differential runs Miami went on in the first two games they’d be looking to close this out

Looks like I'll be missing Clash of Champions. Man after the first half I was fearing the worst but that second half was a thing of beauty. And the best part was they didn't take the foot off the gas once they got a big lead. Miami likes to grind it out so you have keep the pace up. Especially love the contributions from the big guys, Theis and Kanter tonight. Still a long climb but at least we see the Celtics have some fight.

1 half down 1 more to go
Loving the defensive effort and I hope they only pick it up even more because Denver is just gonna shoot and shoot and shoot as much as they can coming here , do not like AD in foul trouble right now but it does not seem to be an issue atleast not when we got Dwight out there.
Lets go boys half way to the finish line.
