...willing to teach me how to draw?
I'm getting old, and I've never been able to do it, and it's one of the things that most depresses me.

Your best bet is to find a local art class if you're serious about it. That would probably be your best opportunity to learn.

There are tutorials for specific skills everywhere online, but the best advice I ever received was when an art teacher told me years ago there’ll be many days when you feel like your art sucks.
But in reality you’re still learning, gradually training your eyes to identify forms from real life and putting them on paper. I keep a scrapbook nearby often to get certain ideas out or practice in a specific area (perspectives, anatomy, shading , etc.)
Also, making master-copy studies of artists you admire helps, it’s a great way to build up your art style through influences. But do this for multiple artists so that you’re not just apeing one style, and always acknowledge/credit who you studied from if you want to show the mastercopy in public.
Also, one can learn to draw at any age.
