So I've ben watching Chernobyl lately and I geuss that put me in the mood for some more post-apocalyptic Soviet misery. The best kind if misery! And since I haven't played that game yet, I loved the previous two and it's really cheap these days, I figured hy not give it a try? And I'm liking it well enough so far, especially with the rather intriguing setup of the guy being immune to emissions, or rather affected differently by them. And the gun fights are as intense as ever, while stealth actually seems to be a more effective option than before from what I've experienced so far. However, is it just me or is the game a liiiittle bit too crazy with the random high-radioactivity areas?
Seriously, it seems that I try going one way, high radiation, I try going another way, high radiation, I try going a third way, high radiation. It can make it really frustrating to navigate because it sometimes feel like going through a maze, trying to find the non-radioactive spots so your hrelath won't drain in seconds, and unlike anomalies, radioactive spots aren't visible so you really have to go by trial and error. And maybe I'm imagining things but I feel like the spots aren't in the same place after I reload a save, so it seems they really are random. I remember these things could be annoying in the previous two games but geez, it's really bad here. So is that a thing this game is famous for or have I just been really unlucky?
Don't get me wrong, like I said, pretty much everything else about the game is fun, so I'm really looking forward to playing more, and I do like a challenge, so even that doesn't bother me much, really. Anyway, what do y'all think of this game?
