Oye vey.
I'm only 45 minutes in and this is sooo bad on so many levels. I'm not sure where to start. The film really takes liberties to a point where its insulting to the victims and their families. I can't respect anyone involved after watching. I know its fiction but its written in such an exploitive way.

Honestly, the Manson/Tate story might be up there for producing such a consistent string of weak films about an actual historical event.
We got one really effective TV movie with Helter Skelter in 76 and its been all downhill ever since.

All I have to add is, I think Margot Robbie is painfully beautiful, but she can't hold a candle to Sharon Tate.
That being said, I am excited for the Tarantino movie, even though it's not really a Manson family movie. More like Spike Lee's Summer of Sam.

Watched a review of this a few weeks back, it sounds awful.
And the ending is pretty disgusting.

I honestly have no interest in media about Manson. Let him rot.

Sure it covers way more than just the Tate incident, but it is worth watching. Maybe Tarantino's upcoming film will be good.

It's the first I hear of this. Did they seriously try to turn a real-life, high-profile and still fairly recent event into a supernatural horror film? I'm not opposed to making fiction based on real events, but this is just conceptually dumb.

Like seriously, they make supernatural horror films "based on a true story" all the damn time, but the difference between those and this is, well most of the time those other films are based on either really obscure things no one ever heard or, or the real event was just complete and total bullshit. This, this was a high profile, well known tragedy. Just get the hell outta here with that.

Applying a supernatural element to a tragedy hundreds of years old may be questionable regardless, but its still less tasteless than doing so to a murder case where people who knew the victims are alive now.

No interest. Between the original event and the shit with Roman Polansky's rapist ass, the Tate family deserves some peace.
I anticipate some edgelord musician putting a cover of "Always is all is forever" or something on an album, if they want to do a deeper cut kind of trash.
