I ain’t saying it’s right but I get where he was coming from. I get wanting to kill someone. I get wanting to kill yourself. But shooting someone in the back of the head in front of millions of people, then busting out a wrestling pose before killing myself on camera...I don’t get where that is coming from.

Oh yeah that last part is something else on some other planet in a different universe but having those thoughts about hurting someone and then yourself I get it at my lowest point in life I had some weird fantasies that today just seem insane to me and am happy to be done with.

This is one scenario where Raven, Big Show and Kane cutting the power would be heaven sent

This + Benoit might have been the death kneel for the WWE, hell maybe just this. Jeez, depression does crazy stuff you. That's scary as hell to think about.

I would have ruined Wrestlemania, which I love Wrestlemania. Damn, to think Dreamer was in such a bad place he was contemplating ruining Wrestlemania.

On the one hand, yes, maybe better if he kept that to himself. On the other hand, depression can make you truly sick and think awful thoughts, especially compounded with things like OCD. Intrusive thoughts are common, and they're usually awful things like murder or suicide. I think he was just trying to get across how dark of a place he was in back then, but yeah, he may have gone a little overboard.

You know what, I'm glad he talked about this. Not to be a dick but a lot of the responses to this around the net are the reason people don't discuss their depression. "What's wrong with you, keep it to yourself" etc. are some of the very phrases that push people further down into a spiral. I'm not saying that what Tommy was thinking was right but in the lowest parts of my struggle with addiction and depression I've had a lot of similar thoughts. Totally rational and wonderful people can think like monsters if it gets bad enough.

And it's probably worse when your entire life has been wrestling, revenge angles, and hanging out with doped up wrestlers.

Really not much for me to say that hasn't been said, other than the fact that, behind the curtain, the wrestling business can be so damn depressing. If the good parts of it weren't so uplifting, it would be too hard to be a fan of the whole thing.

There were times where I wanted to kill Paul." But it's a whole other level to talk about your plans to make a televised spectacle of killing on the industry's most visible night.

Totally rational and wonderful people can think like monsters if it gets bad enough. Right. And it's probably worse when your entire life has been wrestling, revenge angles, and hanging out with doped up wrestlers. This is also true. Take the struggles a lot of us have day to day and then add to that the batshit crazy world of wrestling. Again, I don't want it to seem like I'm condoning what Dreamer was thinking about, because that's absolutely not the case but I think a lot of people tend to ignore/don't know about Dreamer in his early career. Like, we all just know him now as the goofy, Twitter pants wearing guy that tries his best to keep the ECW memory alive. Before ECW became what it was, Tommy was a good looking dude that was really damn solid in the ring and he easily could've been a mid card champ in WWE or WCW. For better or worse he chose to stay ECW and he helped build the company with Heyman, not just in the ring but behind the scenes as well. And then when you're pretty much hitting the hottest point of your career and the company you helped build, the guy you built it with left everyone holding the bag when it all came to a stop. That'll f*** someone up hard. At the end of it all, I'm glad that Tommy is in a better place mentally and in his life in general. And I really hope that someone who is going through some shit sees this and thinks " damn, he went through that and came back. I can too."

Ironically, the only thing that stopped this, is that Dreamer couldn’t afford a ticket, because Heyman took all his money.
