I just like the odd sense of humor this movie had. It was so different from other Disney films at the time.
And of course my favorite song from it.

Looking back on it as an adult, that toaster was brave as f***.

I remember I liked the movie as a kid because it was so different and weird and had a lot of adventure scenes in it. I think there are two sequels but I haven't seen those. I should re-watch this sometime.

Oddly, it's actually based off a book...and when they made the direct to sequel movie The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars? Yeah, turns out THAT was a book first, too.
I never had the official VHS of the movie; instead, we had a blank tape that was recorded with a few kid-friendly things on it, and I watched the hell out of it when I was little. Pretty sure it was the first major chance to direct and lead on a feature-length animated film for some of the people who were there early at Pixar.

This movie is still fun, but surprisingly dark, even for 1987. The appliances get bashed, crushed, struck by lightning, ripped up, all kinds of gruesome stuff. I guess they figured them being household objects would take out some of the visual shock, but some scenes I’m like god damn. Not to mention the nightmare clown sequence.

I absolutely loved this movie as a kid, even tho it scared the shit out of me. Never owned a copy of it tho, wouldn’t mind picking it up on Blu Ray.

Forget Scar, forget Maleficent, the Giant Magnet is the most evil villain in Disney history.

I actually haven't seen it since the 80's. This thread is making me want to give it a rewatch.

Can also safely say that this was the movie that introduced me to the song Tutti Frutti.

Just found out recently that the air conditioner was voiced by Phil Hartman. I knew it likely wasn't voiced by Jack Nicholson, but not that it was Phil. A good impression at that. And better performance when the Air Conditioner loses its shit.

The Clown. There, I got it out of the way. Are you talking about the firefighter clown? That thing creeped me the hell out as a kid, especially with the fire hose spraying forks.

I remember liking this movie, but also being scared of it. Haven't watched it again in ages.

I always assumed that the owner on some subconscious level knew the appliances had life. Otherwise he's a batshit insane person who almost gets killed trying to save inanimate objects.
