Say in an alternate universe, hhh never gets injured has his fued with Austin in 2001 and then at mania 18, you can either have Austin vs hhh vs Jericho for the undisputed title (Jericho as the rr winner, Austin as wwe champ and hhh as whc. Or replace Austin with rock (one of the two has to face hogan) and Jericho wins the title their and has a top face run. Although Jericho was used tremendously in his run, he could of done more as a main eventer I think. He’s much like Ambrose in that way

I think it had more impact to have him beat Rock and Stone Cold in one night. Yeah he can crow about first undisputed champ all he wants but the real accolade was beating the two biggest stars in the business at the time in one night. That's something no one would have though he could do. I think they should have had him face after that and given him a lengthy run as that's the kind of superhuman megaface coronation. However, the very next night he was heeling it up.
Having him win one of the titles from Triple H instead of Rock would have made it mean less though. Plus I don't think Mania coronations were as important back then as they are now.

If Triple H doesn't get injured then Jericho doesn't sniff the world title until 2008.
It became painfully obvious how they saw him pre 2008 even when he had the damn belt.

Yeah, it was never about crowning Jericho, at any point really.
I imagine that pretty much once Triple H knew his return date (in fact probably a long time before that), a face Trips winning at X8 was the moment they wanted.
Jericho was just the best heel at the time for Hunter to vanquish, that hadn’t been done to death already.
Plus it was a nice opportunity to move Jericho up to world title level but I doubt WWE really gave a shit about his role at the time.

Yeah, about the only scenario in which Jericho becomes champ at Mania X8 is if Hunter’s quad doesn’t heal by Wrestlemania.

HHH in the invasion would have been interesting. Probably jumping to ECW to accompany Steph, rowing with her as the Alliance falls to pieces and eventually dumping her and turning face.
He'd have also made the Alliance stronger by insisting he (and those around him) not be booked to look vulnerable or foolish.
