Put the belt on Joe and let him be a monster tell a new babyface is built up to dethrone him

I don't watch regularly enough, so this is a question. Is Kofi being treated as a real main event world champion or as the well liked upper-mid carder who happens to be keeping the belt warm? Kofi's probably the most legit main event male babyface right now since Roman Reigns. He's on a win streak and anytime he's in there with a main event level guy he not only makes you think "ok Kofi can win this" but he's such a great underdog babyface that there's always a chance he can lose, he's legit. He's basically the babyface they tried to make Reigns back when they tried to give him sympathy back when he was whooping everyone's asses.

I think the Kofi title run is one of the rare things WWE is booking well.

Yes, if Joe's going to be booked as strongly as a heel as Kofi's been as a face.

The Kofi Kingston title run is bizarre in how well done it's been.
He wins all the time, as he should because he's WWE Champion.
Why did it take them so long to work this out?

Kofi should hold it for a long time, but I am completely down with Joe being the one to take it from him eventually.
Sadly he is already wrestling Joe so it's too late for at least one of those.

I voted yes. As a heel, Joe feels, well, a fresh foil to Kofi. Dolph is done in the main event scene; Daniel Bryan's tied up in the tag scene building up Heavy Machinery (idgaf, I love those guys - they're the face answer to the Revival); and nobody's sure where Bray Wyatt will fit in on a more sport-oriented Smackdown Live (if that plan is still in place.)
There is one development we smarks should be watching a little more closely - the upcoming program between Finn and Shin. That feels a bit like Finn's getting the Bret Hart title swap treatment wherein he loses the Intercontinental title and then gets pencilled into a WWE title shot and probable stint with the black belt. This assumes that my darker suspicions, that Finn is on his way out of WWE, are wrong.

Rather him than Shane or Brock to act as the transitional champ to get it back to Reigns, the best idea would be for Reigns to turn heel and challenge Kofi directly and with backstage events that’s a lot more likely than it was this time last week.

Absolutely. It’s nice to see the majority ruling that way too. Kingston keeps playing with pancakes and acting like he took a day off from tagging with the the New Day to go win a belt. I was hoping he would elevate his character to feel more like a world champion but I’ve given up on that. Give it to Joe and let’s see what he can do with the title.

Oh god, absolutely. I love what Kofi has done, but Joe is 100% the guy I wanted to beat him as soon as he won the thing. I thought he would get stuck in Raw's mid-card after the Shake-Up, so this is definitely a nice twist. I wouldn't mind if Kofi won at ER and Joe got the actual win at SummerSlam, though. Either way, I hope Joe is the guy.

People aren't saying they want Kofi to lose to Joe because of Kofi's reign. They're saying it because we need a credible heel champion after Kofi and Joe makes the most sense. It has nothing to do with how Kofi's entire reign has been and if anything if you read the responses here most love what Kofi is doing. Right now whenever Kofi loses the belt Joe is the best option out of all the heels we have on the roster. That's what happens when your booking is so bad that the only credible guy is someone we were calling a bitch for the past 2 years.

Not everyone is giving their reasons for wanting to see the belt switch hands. We don’t even need to know why. They just want to see it happen. Maybe Joe would do more on top. I’d like to see him be given a shot. Most people responding to this poll would too so it’s all good.

Kofi's reign is like the only thing I like about the main roster, but with this reign he's established himself (IMO) as a guy who can be given the title again in the future and do well with it. I'd just like to see a well booked monster heel Joe can do with it.

If Eric being in charge for real is anything they’ll give it to Joe.

I LOVE Kofi as champ, but also yes. I want Joe to have a year with the belt. I want Kofi to pass Punk's reign

No. The time of dominant heel Champion Samoa Joe has long since passed. He decided to waste that time in TNA. Now is the time of credible challenger to put people over Samoa Joe. Just embrace it.

When Kingston won the championship at "Wrestlemania," at the most I'd hoped he'd get a Shawn Michaels/Bret Hart run with the championship where he'd hold it until Survivor Series, and at the very least I was hoping he'd get a three and half month run with it.
By the time, "Extreme Rules" rolls around we'll have closed on him being champion for roughly that long, and even though, I don't think Joe will take it off of him at the show(as this whole feud screams of "stop gap", filler material,) but if Samoa Joe was to dethrone Kofi Kingston at "Extreme Rules" or "SummerSlam" I would be perfectly okay with that.

If Kofi loses it to Joe, I won't be upset, I'll put it that way, even if I am cool with Kofi getting more time if it means he won't be stuck facing Dolph.

There's a difference between Kofi losing the belt due to his reign and him as a character and Kofi losing the belt because someone next is up to bat. Like, the topic is should Joe be next and we know Kofi isn't gonna be champion forever but it can happen at the next ppv, it can happen 2 years from now but regardless that's it. Judging most of the post responses in this thread the majority say they're cool with Kofi's reign, only 2 people aren't cool with his reign judging responses. Your post gave the impression that people saying yes are saying it because they think Kofi's reign is bad when the reality is all the comments in this thread are against that. At the end of the day most people are cool with Joe being the guy to get the title next which even I agree with but that doesn't mean it's because of Kofi's reign. It just means that Joe's really the best heel they have right now on the roster. That's just what happens. If it wasn't Joe then who would it have been? There's no other good heels.
