I'm on a kick today and would like to get on the network and fire up something from the original ECW 93-01.
But pretty straight up question, for those who watched a lot of it, what was the best match from bell to bell that company ever produced?

RVD and Sabu vs Hayabusa and Hakushi for the tag-team titles at Heatwave 98 is the first that comes to my mind.

My favorite wrestling match of all time is the two out of three falls match that Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero had on their last night in ECW. There’s just something about it that caught me when I first saw it as a kid, and I think it still holds up almost 25 years later.

I'm not a huge fan of the guy, but pick an RVD vs. Jerry Lynn match.

I think Taz vs. Bam Bam where they crashed through the ramp is a good old EC-Dub match. Brutal, but not too over the top. Makes me wonder why Bam Bam didn't get his push in WWF, and shows what Taz(z) could/should have been in WWF if not for his injuries.

The answer comes down to what style of wrestling you enjoy. Pure, technical fan? Guerrero/Malenko is your jam. Car crash, spotfest sort of guy? RVD/Lynn for you. Dramatic, gritty storytelling more your speed? Check out Beulah vs. Fonzie. You want Lucha? Mysterio/Juvi. Is garbage wrestling how you roll? Dudleys vs. Balls and Spike is the match for you. You like comedy? Full Blooded Italians, look 'em up. And if you want overbooked messes, Raven and Dreamer had about a hundred of them and nearly all of them are fun. That's what made ECW the perfect alternative to WWF and WCW, there was something for every type of fan out there.

One of the best feuds in wrestling history. Well at least in the almost 40 years I've watched

I will say that the RVD/Bigelow match is what made me an undying RVD fan forever. I literally jumped out of my chair at that insane somersault into the 5th row. As far as the best actual match I might go with RVD/Lynn from Sept. 1999, one of the early TNN shows. I've rarely seen crowd heat like that one had, and the storyline of Lynn's busted ribs gave it an extra layer of psychology.
Here's the thing about those RVD/Lynn matches. They aren't just car crash spotfests. See, before those matches you didn't really see much mingling of technical/high flying stuff with the hardcore. I guess Sabu but he's a subgenre of his own really. The craziness of the RVD/Lynn matches is that you could see the Eddie/Malenko technical exchanges and wild, interesting moves, pinfall reversal sequences, etc. and then in the same match see a liberal use of chairs, crashing through tables, and fighting in the crowd. Those matches were revolutionary for that era and in my view set the stage for everything from TNA's X Division, to the modern indie style, to NJPW's mix of technical and brawling.

Any Mike awesome v tanaka match I know a lot of people have had issues with unprotected chair shots and neck drops but that very well may be in my top 10 favorite feuds ever. Heatwave 98 in particular is probably my favorite match of theirs in original ECW. As a matter of fact, just watch all of Heatwave 98. It really is a card with something for everyone. From the aforementioned Taz vs Bigelow, Tanaka vs Awesome, and Hayabusa/Shinzaki vs RVD/Sabu to some late 90's style walk-and-brawls like the main event. I'm too young to have grown up with ECW, so I dismissed it as mostly hardcore with sprinkles of technical wrestling thrown in but going back and watching it I have to say it had a really diverse format that is refreshing in a way, especially now.

Any Mike awesome v tanaka match The Heatwave 98 one (I get the feeling that show is gonna come up a LOT in this thread) has one of the dumbest and most awesome spots I've ever seen: Two wrestlers having a steel chair fencing match.
