From a wrestling only perspective, if I were Anthem, I’d find out everything I can do to help NJPW get a strong foothold in North America. Great their programming just like Impact & when the time comes for talent sharing/working together, TNA’s old botches will seem like a thing of them he past.
To answer the question on whether or not I will watch Impact on AXS, I would start by DVR-ing it & finding segments and wrestlers I like & go from there. Wrestling on TV feels saturated right now, but I’m not writing anything off.

Unless NJPW chooses to pull out, I’d be very surprised to see Anthem terminate the deal. The primary home for Impact In Canada is Fight Network, owned by Anthem, which also currently airs NJPW, ROH Syndicated, ROH Classics and a bunch of other wrestling. They have no issue sharing network space with other companies

Neither that video nor that press release mention a single thing about day and time it's airing on.

Neither that video nor that press release mention a single thing about day and time it's airing on. Press release states starting after BFG so itll at least be that week

Now that I get a channel that carries Impact, I'll probably give it a shot. I haven't watched it in years, but what the hell? What's another 2 hours of wrestling a week? It will be added to the rest of my Non-WWE wrestling that I binge watch on weekends if I don't have anything else to watch.

What I'd do is put first-run episodes on Tuesdays and repeat airings on Saturdays either before WOW or after NJPW. I'm sure AXS could make due with airing a couple less music documentaries or old concerts per week.

TNT waited a couple months to officially announce the day and time of AEW, to the point it caused problems with AEW’s international deals

This is impact we are talking about. The smart decision is Tuesday or Thursday, but knowing them they will air on Wednesday up against AEW and NXT

To be fair, they announced their deal like half a year in advance as opposed to a month. And they made the official announcement for day and times at upfronts where you're supposed to announce that sorta thing. And the UK and Canadian airings of the show, IIRC, are also still up in the air so I think it still hurt them anyway.

And the UK and Canadian airings of the show, IIRC, are also still up in the air so I think it still hurt them anyway. For a fledgling company like AEW, announcing they had a TV deal expressed a lot of very important things very quickly toward international television partners, toward the sports and general entertainment media--way easier to be taken seriously and get reported on if you actually have a TV slot--and to possible advertising partners. There were definitely risks and problems with it, but there was a big PR bump to be found in confirming they were on TV and being taken more seriously that makes the idea seem like it at least had some positives, if not more positives than potential negatives. With this, it's an already-existing program on a TV channel simulcast on twitch every week, announcing the move prematurely doesn't do nearly as much. AEW was priming people for a time and a place, TNA is leaving possible habit breaking in the air, and habitual viewing has always been a big part of ratings for anything

At least with Anthem owning both Pursuit and AXS Impact can actually promote the hell out of this move. Not very often a channel move is expected to lead to a massive increase in viewers.

We hear about all of these moves first as rumors and just assume that it's true so then when the actual press release comes out, it feels like old news.
