I wonder if the success of AEW will incentive more companies to invest into wrestling shwos. For the bigger names but doubt "everyone" gets a deal For all intents and purposes Impact is a super indy and has been so for a few years so they have that on their side plus history as well so they can lure back some old guys from before if anythin
Maybe, maybe.....MLW gets to be on El Rey? With LA Park, Wagner, and a bunch of more AAA guys, it fits them perfectly imo.

Considering the shit Lucha is going through with El Rey just to get another season greenlit any other wrestling program would be better off elsewhere honestly. but through the grapevine I hear they are actually returning (no date specified) but the caviat people will have to pay to get into the temple now on and if this is true you see how long this took.

That's an option but is El Rey wanting to get back into wrestling after everything with LU which has still not been officially cancelled yet

Dont get AXS, will they still have the Twitch stream? Haven't heard anything about it stopping. AXS has far more reach than Pursuit, but it isn't exactly a big network so they'd be fools to stop the Twitch stream.

Thank god (if true) I can actually watch Impact again. With WOW coming back AXS is going to be my wrestling channel.

Dope. Not gonna lie. I’ve become accustomed to watching NJPW on AXS do any other wrestling on it, I’m good with.

AXS doesn't subscribe to Nielsen so there won't be ratings pressure

Nice, much more accessible and hopefully means better revenues for the promotion in some capacity, leading to better pay and exposure for their wrestlers. I like the fact that we're heading into a time when there'll be two large-scale promotions with serious money behind them in WWE and AEW, but that ROH and Impact can also exist as viable options and even sources of full-time wages for at least their top stars, along with MLW despite the recent not-so-rosy picture painted of some of their financial dealings. Just a good all-around thing for the industry to have more than just two big guns and then everybody else just scraping by, ala ECW getting big in the 90s but still having so many checks bounce.

It's a small step-up and a nice financial boost, nothing major but something they can work with to help improve. I don't see them getting a Spike-tv style deal ever again, but they can slowly grow and get a better channel.

AXS isn't a bad channel to be on, it's certainly better than every channel Impact has been on since leaving Spike.

Does anyone have numbers on the number of homes AXS is in vs. their current and former channels?

At this point, I wonder how long it'll be before TNA ends up on local access cable? How far they've fallen, sad.

Does anyone have numbers on the number of homes AXS is in vs. their current and former channels? I don't have the specific numbers for all of them, but Pop TV, at over 70 million homes, was the second best after Spike TV. It was a big improvement over Destination America. AXS, I believe, is in more homes than Pursuit but less than all the others.

This is good. Impact was just treading water on Pursuit, and had zero chance for growth there. AXS is definitely a step in the right direction, and being in a wrestling block will only help their visibility. Hopefully it’s a good paying deal.

Either way, AXS is a good network for them as it already has wrestling/mma, so the channel is more geared for them especially if it's the same night as New Japan and WOW. Pop TV and Destination America were terrible channels for them, as they we geared to a completely different audience. On an added note, Pop TV is in a lot of homes because it used to be the TV Guide channel, which was one of the very early cable channels. But it's just a rerun channel, where AXS actually produces a lot of original programming, especially in music.

I wonder if it is due to AXS being a purely HD tier level station? I don't recall it ever being on standard TV at all, so I wonder if that hurts market penetration? It used to be HD Net on channel 928 for me, but then changed to AXS. They had ROH on there at one point.

I suppose the HD point would hurt it more on cable than other platforms as most these days, especially streaming, only offer HD now.

They make less then 10 thousand right now on pursuit.
That's even lower than OVW

AXS is available on most of the major cable, satellite and live TV streaming services. But it’s usually in the upper-tier HD or sometimes sports packages, which cuts down the number of homes where it’s actually received.
I personally don’t have AXS (though interestingly, I do have Pursuit). But I do consider it a step up from a business perspective. While I’m sure they’d have liked to land on a bigger network, this does show that they’re starting to rebound a bit, and that there’s room to grow.
(I don’t recall this being mentioned in the thread—forgive me if I overlooked it—but AXS is Mark Cuban’s network, for what that’s worth.)

I get AXS TV but I don’t know if I’ll watch cause I’ve lost complete interest in impact since they moved to pursuit/twitch I don’t even bother checking results or the show thread.
