Albert Patterson has made WWE the above offer for purchasing the SoW trademark.

This is big, hopefully WWE and this guy can come to an agreement, I'd love to see WWF Superstars on the Network from 86-91.

Dude... you want to go into the Hall of Fame for selling a copyright? Uhhhh... that’ll happen right after I get done inducting Taker because I’m a big fan.
I dunno, the money is right, but I dunno if it’s worth it frankly. I do not want this clown thinking he won anything because he held wrestling history hostage.

Hate to be a downer, but they may wait for him to pass on and pick up the trademark one it becomes open if his health is failing.

It's just a "consideration" for a Hall of Fame induction, so they could always say, "We considered it, and you aren't getting in."

If they’re that desperate for the deal then just stick him in the legacy section as a regional promoter. The legacy section is already treated as an afterthought anyway, adding him to it won’t make the slightest bit of difference.

Yeah, this Hall of Fame induction is going to translate to a Legacy induction, which amounts to about 10 seconds of air time on the Hall of Fame broadcast, and he gets his name printed on the Wrestlemania/Hall of Fame program in 12 point font that year.

Is it even worth $200,000 for something which lets be realistic unfortunately very few people in the grand scheme of things really care about?
Like that seems a very steep price so they can have old footage few will watch on their network when they could just go for other stuff from the EE chive that would cost nothing.

Yeah. The Hall of Fame bit is probably the biggest hurdle now, but as has been mentioned, there's always the legacy spots, plus he just said consideration, so maybe that's not the biggest point of contention. Not sure if wanting 100k of the payment to be in the form of stock makes it more or less likely he'll get his pay. WWE's paid more for less, as some of the alumni would attest to by virtue of ever having worked for them.

I hope he gets his hall of fame induction and WWE gives him the most over the top ridiculous induction video of all time. Think that Braden Walker parody video cranked up to a thousand!

$200,000 vs. the man-hours involved in editing and blurring out every instance of "of Wrestling" from 5 years worth of weekly shows. not just from "Superstars of Wrestling" but all the episodes of Wrestling Challenge and Prime Time that make reference to that show. give him the money and be done with it.

Considering that and the number of people who will probably renew their accounts just to watch Superstars, and $200,000 seems like it could be a deal. Part of the hang up might be that he's also asking for half of that to be in WWE stock, which might be something the company might pause at. But I don't know enough about stocks to know if doing so would affect their bottom line, or would be a better deal for them.
