Draft tonight at 8. Don't forget even though I probably will even though I'm posting this right now Edit - quoting this because I bumped it to the bottom of the last page Friendly reminder that the draft is TONIGHT at 8PM EST (just as Monday Night Raw starts). If you go to the league page approximately 30 minutes before the draft, there will be a link for the draft. It won't be available right at 30 minutes; it's usually around 25/26 minutes. There is a link in the league page to test your system/phone to confirm the draft will work on it. If you're unsure, be sure to check this before we draft. We seem to have at least one person each year that has computer/phone troubles, and not to come off as a dick, but we're not able to hold up the draft for that. Be sure you have some way to join the draft and can confirm it runs before you join in. Each draft pick will be 1:30 long, and again, goes in snake style; reverse order in even-numbered rounds. Good luck to everyone! I don't think I'll be doing a Discord channel for it this year, but I'll be in the chat. And I forget who's got that #1 pick, but I hear this Andrew Luck kid is gonna take the league by storm this year.

Yeah, I never put too much stock into those projections. They project Tony Pollard (who's projected to be the #1 RB in Dallas as long as Zeke holds out) for 0.00 points all season, even though in his summary they say he's had a good enough pre-season that he'd likely be a decent RB3-4/flex even if Zeke returns.
I sometimes look at my team and go "...ehh..." and then do alright, other times I've thought "title's in the bag" and then Demented knocks me out of contention in the final week or James Conner has a case of popcorn farts during the fantasy playoffs. I like a few dice rolls here and there (I picked Ezekiel Elliot at 7 for crying out loud), but I like to have anchors as well; I'm confident I'll never have to move Drew Brees off except for his bye week, and if Zeke comes back he, Damien Williams and Kerryon are a 2-piece and a biscuit I plan on feeding everyone every week I can.
And yeah, WR is weak for me (I went RB/RB/RB to open my draft), but I feel like enough of those emerge during the season I can swap them around as needed. Though I suppose you can twist that philosophy into explaining why you should fill the WR position in a flash too. When I was doing mocks, no joke, I was doing RB/RB/RB/RB/QB or RB/RB/RB/QB/RB for the first 5 rounds, and then teeing off on WRs the rest of the draft. But when we got on a WR run and started seeing names fall off I'd seen get picked later in the mocks (not questioning the picks), I knew I needed to abandon the strategy a round earlier or else even the sleepers I'd been eyeballing would be gone. Got a couple, didn't get all 3 I wanted (Valdez-Scantling, specifically...Groose will attest, my two biggest cuss-laden rants of the night were seeing him and TJ Hockenson come off the board).
I've just seen the "get 3 solid RBs, a battle-tested QB, and then hit on a sleeper or two at WR" strategy work too many times for that not to be my method. If we do end up going Superflex (still debating it, don't want anyone assuming that's a done deal, far from it), maybe that changes. But ya never know...the year "Rusev Crush" went undefeated, his RB core was rather weak but his WR lineup was insane.

I'm in a tough spot in a keeper league: my 2 workhorses are Melvin Gordon and EE

I think draft grades and projected records weigh heavily on bye week points lost and don't account for players swapping in and out starters.
I NEVER get a high mark on any draft.

Melvin Gordon's holdout has put me in a very tough spot in nearly all my leagues
I kind of thought Mayfield & Laudry might lay an egg as Cleveland offense learns to get together with all their new additions

Welp, I’m done in our league.
Both because the three QBs I drafted are either out, obviously playing hurt (Cam), or is Joe Flacco, and because I’m locked out of my Yahoo account right now.

Locked out? Anyway, in a complete reversal from last week, I'm on the brink of winning all 3 games. I've clinched 2 wins & am leading one game by 31 points, so I hope Trevor Siemian/OBJ somehow don't combine for 32+ points tonight.
