Revel in the glory. Love this song, love this video. At the time, it felt like nothing else out there. I really feel that this song and video were what got society ready to transition from 80s metals/hard rock and into the "grunge" and "alternative" (I don't personally believe either word exists in terms of music, but whatevs) genres that Smells Like Teen Spirit would spearhead.
Also, I can't believe I didn't catch on for decades that Patton is just brutally parroting Anthony Keidis in this and was only made to realize it this past year.

Really puts the Mr. Bungle vs RHCP beef into perspective. Also pre Mike Patton FNM toured with RHCP during the Introduce Yourself tour.
Can't help but wonder what a Chuck version of Epic would have been, flaws and all.

One of my all time favourite bands. One of the only bands I’ve bought the same albums twice (We Care A Lot (original and 2016 bonus edition) and King For A Day (original and 2016 bonus edition)).
Saw them live twice on the 2016 tour, second time I was three people back from the stage and screamed along the lyrics to every song (something I don’t do)
Love the Moseley era just as much as the Patton era. We Care a Lot is actually my favourite album of theirs.

FNM is a band that is amazing live and just OK on their albums. Saw them opening for Metallica and GnR and FNM blew Metallica off the stage.

I seriously doubt Patton was stealing anything from Kiedis since The Real Thing was released before Mother’s Milk, the first RHCP album to gain even the slightest bit of notoriety.
For the record, I think that their stuff after The Real Thing was infinitely better, and considering that I loved The Real Thing, That is saying something.

Every time I think of FNM it reminds me of a thread about 1 hit wonders in Rec.Sport.Pro-Wrestling. Someone posted about how FNM is a one hit wonder, which they kinda are,and it pissed off a long time RSPW poster. Pissed him off so much a flame war started. A flame war that started in 2000 and is still going on now. A Flame war that go so heated one of the people in it called CPS on another person in the flame war.

FNM kicks ass in general, but Angel Dust is easily my favorite album of theirs. Patton’s great at shifting around tones, from pleasant stuff like the Midnight Cowboy and Easy covers to insane rockers like Malpractice and Land of Sunshine.

In junior high school I made a list of my 10 favorite bands and Faith No More was Number 10. They still might be in the top 10.
Great group.
Also, if you haven’t done so you owe it to yourself to check out Mike Patton’s other band, Mr. Bungle.

Didn't really like the tracks I heard from Sol Invictus which is a shame because FNM was a band I had been looking forward to a new album from.
With that said, Mike Patton may be the one of the most underrated frontmen in all of music, from FNM to Mr. Bungle to Fantomas to his one EP with Dillinger Escape Plan before Greg Puciato was brought in.

Nah, it's pretty well-known now that Patton was mocking Kiedis in the video, mimicking all of the movements Anthony was known for. RHCP wouldn't break big until later, but they and FNM had crossed paths a few times by this point.

I didn’t like Sol Invictus at all when I first heard it either. The first time I saw them live was the week it came out and something wasn’t clicking at that show, so I was somewhat soured. It took a few months (and an incredible second concert) to turn me around. I’d rank it near the bottom of their discography but that’s not saying it’s bad by any stretch of the means. 1. We Care A Lot 2. Angel Dust 3. Album of the Year 4. Introduce Yourself 5. King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime 6. Sol Invictus 7. The Real Thing Btw, the Real Thing just celebrated it’s thirtieth birthday on June 20th
