It's weird that there is only one movie coming out in 2020 and it's going to be a prequel. We won't really see what happens next after Far From Home until 2021. Also, I'm very curious about Shang Chi. I've been reading comics for over 35 years, yet admit to having little to no knowledge of the character aside from having heard his name before. I don't think I've ever read a comic that had him in it, so his movie will be like a blank slate for me. Eternals is scheduled for Nov 6, 2020. Still, only two MCU movies for 2020. There was 3 movies in 2017, 3 movies in 2018 and 3 movies in 2019. Blame the clustersmurf around GOTG 3. They had a script turned in by Gunn and ready to go... then he got fired. Yes, he’s back and directing again, but he has to do Suicide Squad first since he agreed to that prior to the rehire. That pushes GOTG 3 to 2022 and leaves Marvel with two movies in 2020.

There really needs to be a Thor Corps movie.

It has now been clarified that this is not the first part of Phase Four, as was originally reported at Comic Con, this is the whole thing. Fantastic Four, GOTG3, Blade, Black Panther 2, and Captain Marvel 2 are all Phase Five. Spider-Man 3 will likely be a Phase Four movie, but it's Sony's movie to announce, not Disney's. Yea, that's why I put the others in future category

As fun as a “What If...” series sounds with all of the movie talent on board, I’m disappointed that they’re being so boring with it. They’re basically being handed an animated series to do whatever the hell they want, and they’re STILL stuck on the movie side of things. They’re being given an outlet that eliminates the excuses to do TV and movie crossovers and to also do TV side What Ifs. Go balls to the wall with it or don’t do it at all. I want a “What if the Avengers Found Out Coulson Was Alive?” episode since the MCU talking heads lied and failed to ever deliver on that. We’re gonna address that soon my ass

I guess the GOTG are relegated to an closing/post-credits cameo in Phase 4 (or as toys as part of a Toy Story 25th anniversary charity single style rendition of "You Got a friend in me" for whatever Pixar movie comes out in 2020)

Eternals and Shang-Chi I have no clue on Eternals will probably hint at mutants. I don't think that it's any coincidence that they started development on Eternals once the deal for Fox was nearing completion. Shang-Chi I expect to be relatively separate for the first movie. Obviously we've seen the Ten Rings in Iron Man and Ant-Man, but I can see them becoming more prominent in Phase 5.

Paltrow has said that while she won't do any more substantial appearances as Pepper she'll consider making cameos. Ironheart seems to be on the horizon, and it would be pretty easy to tie the Ten Rings into that.

Are we not getting Asgardians of the galaxy? Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Black Panther 2, and Captain Marvel 2 are all after 2021 I'll add it to the list and put TBA like Blade Honestly, I'm surprised that GOTG3 would be after Thor: LAT because they just hired Taika to write and direct the movie, and I thought that GOTG 3's script has already been written and, with James returning as director, it would have been in production sooner than later. I guess the stuff with James getting fired probably pushed it back, but it still seems weird, because the pieces are already mostly in place.

I think the firing, with the result of Gunn getting Suicide Squad 2, pushed it back. Which is the "right" thing to do, even if I'm dying to watch Guardians 3 and may never watch Suicide Squad 2. It's not that movie's fault all that happened with Disney.

It started as a complete reboot then people were getting confirmed to return so it seems to be in this nebulous realm that it's both

Yeah, Gunn already confirmed on Twitter he won't start work (again) on GOTG3 until he's done with Suicide Squad, and the unofficial word coming out of Marvel is they've pencilled it in for a late-2022 release.

Who could play Nightmare? I don't know enough about the character to make a decision If they clearly don't care about Netflix actors playing roles in the MCU, I'd go with David Tennant. He can be a weasely, theatrical and sadistic character all at once.

Ali playing Cottonmouth on Luke Cage and Blade in the movies would suggest that they don't. But then again, given Marvel had no plans to develop a Blade movie until Ali called up Feige to say he would like to play Blade, maybe that's just an extraordinary circumstance.
