People will still cry over them not just giving it for free off the bat. People are such entitled twats over this stuff. “How dare Disney not give us these multi million dollar budget movies for free...don’t spend a dime renting them and supporting these capitalist pigs!” SMDH. They gave us Onward and Soul for free and cut the wait for Frozen 2 greatly. If Disney so feels compelled...they can sit on all of these movies until theaters are 100%. If you don’t wanna pay...they’re free like 2 months later. Yea, it is beyond greedy if you thought you was getting these next movies free $30 isn't anything to get a high profile movie in the comfort of your own home Yeah...$30 is barely more than what it would cost for the wife and I to go see it at the theater. Someone (who’s super anti-capitalism) posted something about not renting Raya and advising others not to because it’s not free. Well...it’s free in June. I hate that fake ass Robin Hood crap. Just say you’re entitled and cheap. Black Widow cost like $200 million to make and they act like they were gonna get it for free. (They already took a hit that big on Onward.)

Yeah, whichever way you slice it, Black Widow's almost certainly going to be losing Disney huge chunk of cash - with almost 120 million subscribers worldwide anybody who would've been tempted to subscribe to Disney+ because of Black Widow is almost certainly already on board, and with a limited number of theatres they can put it in worldwide (not to mention the amount of time it'll take for audiences to have the confidence to return) their potential revenue streams for it are slim. Can't blame them for wanting to claw some of it back.

Raya and the Last Dragon has grossed almost $68 million worldwide and that’s not including Disney Premier purchases. More theaters will be open by then so if it has that amount or close to it by the same point it only needs 4.4 million purchases to break even....and I doubt it needs that many.

my gut feeling is that Black Widow will be the #1 pirated movie of the year for a lot of reasons

Now, if you're like me and you usually go to the movies alone, $30 dollars may seem like a bit much, but if it's this versus taking the whole family to the theater, that $30 is a steal.

Ticket prices around here were insane, when theaters were opened, I would usually see Marvel movies with my brother and father... the tickets wound up costing somewhere in the range of 60 bucks... not counting any food we bought if we like stopped for dinner or snacks or whatever... I'm not keen on the DLC aspect of the service at all, but 30 bucks isn't a terrible price for a movie... and if you really don't want to pay for it you can wait a few months until it pops up on there for free.

After having fun watching Wandavision and not being able to get into Black Falcon and Winter Soldier, I figure Black Widow is gonna be more similar to the latter and I'm ready to just get through with it to see more of where the MCU is going...
Definitely ready for The Eternals since I'm not familiar with it and I assume it's gonna be different..

So all the tip-toeing led to..exactly the result most expected. I mean they probably didn't expect theaters to be closed for over a year... so I can't really blame them ... but yeah... pretty much

I live in the Bay Area, and ON AVERAGE I'm spending an average of $60 for the family to go to a movie. The fact that the pandora's box of first run movies being available immediately at home has already been opened is great news for those of us who can have the choice whether we want to try to drag family members and friends over to a theater or not.

My wife is still going to be a bit iffy about going to the theater for awhile I think. So, I will happily pay the $30 to watch Black Widow with her! If it's really good, I'll probably go see it in the theater myself. LOL

He also added that “as long as I’m involved with GOTG, I won’t ever allow it”. Which, like, is pretty definitive.

I watched the first GotG last night, and was reminded how fun that film was. The second one was solid, but I felt like it lived in its predecessor's shadow, especially with how they made Drax a goof. Guardians as a series has also laid some foundation for future space stories (ex. Nova) that seemed to be obvious additions we've yet to see.
Going down the list of shows/movies, I'm surprised Marvel isn't playing more in space. They have Gunn's upcoming work (GotG3/Groot/Holiday) and Captain Marvel 2. Secret Invasion seems like the only space show, but it could very well take place entirely on Earth. I guess Eternals and Thor 4 could feature space heavily...? I still honestly have no idea what Eternals is and how it ties into the MCU.
It could also be a deliberate move, after the universe-spanning Infinity War and Endgame films. Maybe they want to stay away after so much Thanos.
