Okay, so we're all agreed she's at the, "I can say anything I want and these people will lap it up," stage of her career, right? she's been there pretty much since she finished the last book. It probably started the day she said "Dumbledore? Totally gay. It's there if you look for it. No it's not just something I made up off the top of my head 5 minutes ago shut up."

No, the studio didn’t want me to put it in the movie but the subtle hints are there!” “Don’t you have full creative control and also wrote the script?” “....Did I tell you about how Wizards in Hogwarts used to-“ “Yes.”

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. *shrug*
to be fair about the Dumbledore thing, I was curious when I was reading Deathly Hallows because JK, much as I respect her and adore most of what she gave us with Harry Potter and the world she created, she's not that subtle when it comes to romance or unrequited feelings and I wondered but then so much was happening in the book and everyone was dying and I didn't have much time to really hold onto that suspicion, then she said that and when I mentioned it to some friends of mine, we were all kind of in agreement that it didn't seem like much of a stretch to any of us. But yeah a lot since then.... *shrug* I guess I can understand having trouble letting go of a world you were enmeshed in for over 15 years, but eh.

So... wizards weren't potty trained until recent times?

I was lukewarm on the idea of that series in the first place, and then when it came out that she wasn't even going to touch on the one thing that would have made this series that no one asked for fairly compelling and worth telling she bailed on it like a total coward.

Didn't she reveal recently the sorting hat in order to f*** with kids put them on the Mets? Jimmy: "So am I a Gryffindor? What's going on here dude?" Sorting Hat: "Huh? Uh... NEW YORK METS!" Jimmy: "W-what?" Sorting Hat: "Congratulations 11 year old boy, you're a shortstop now. Enjoy millions of muggle dollars." Jimmy: "I can't use muggle money where I'm from..." Sorting Hat: "Sucks."

My biggest take away from this is that the Malfoy’s and other blood purist families who hate all things muggle are probably still wandering around their mansions to this day, shitting on the floor and waiting for their house elves to clean it for them.

It's like in History of the World Part 1: the house elves are like Louis XVI's Piss Boy.

This sums it up, more or less. Rowling herself hasn't made any transphobic posts, but it's one of those "where there's smoke, there's fire" things.
I thought it was gonna be something like 'they' should be eliminated or that there should be no help for people who suffer from this disorder. That would be wrong.

It was best not to put that Fantastic Beasts. For one, it would add nothing to the story. Also, with a large portion of the audience being children you run the risk of alienating that audience. I taught kids for 6 years. There are a good bit iof parents who aren’t homophobic but also don’t feel comfortable having sexuality discussions at a young age. They would prefer have that discussion on their own terms and not forced into it because of a movie. I I understand not wanting the films to have unneeded “controversy”around them.

They would prefer have that discussion on their own terms and not forced into it because of a movie. I I understand not wanting the films to have unneeded “controversy”around them. I'll be frank and say I've never understood this. Like, these things don't even need to boil down to anything sexual. If I were to date someone, I'd date a woman. Someone else might date a man or a woman or non-gendered or trans or whatever the preference might be. None of that has to lead anything sexual and the fact it always goes back that way is kind of disturbing. I'm saying this as someone who was in a relationship with a conflicting sexual structure and how I found out I might be asexual. If two men are seen having come out of a relationship, it could have been platonic, it could have been that they spent time together and never had intercourse. By that logic, you show a mum and dad with a kid in a kids movie, you're telling the kids the Mum and Dad had sex at some point to have said kid which is probably not something they want kids knowing at a young age.
