Wow. So many fans whose teams are having a poor season are celebrating Liverpool losing. Comes to something when the highlight of a team’s season is another team losing a game. I haven't celebrated Liverpools losses, but.... Personally: to me it's because most Liverpool fans I've encountered have been obnoxious for many years. Like, the type that goes on how every player is the best in the world. And it kinda irks me when Jurgen Klopp goes on a record to say things like "I don't understand with the quality they have the football they play. They could play proper football but they stand deep and have counter-attacks." Like Atletico shouldn't have their way of playing that Diego Simeone prefers and which has produced their most successful period in recent years? I agree with Klopp regarding their general tactics, they could play a bit more offensively in general and their matches are a slog to watch. They’ve only actually win two trophies in the last twenty years and think if they played a bit more to their attacking players they might have won more. But for last night specifically it was the classic European away defensive performance. The very same gameplan that Liverpool have used in the past and won several European Cups on the back of, so there can’t be any complaints over that. And I agree that there are some unbearable twats out there who support Liverpool. At the risk of sounding like an old fart, it does seem to have grown with the more recent generation of fans. And that’s aimed at all teams. Not saying past generations haven’t been thugs as hooliganism was far more prevalent in the past. I’m talking more about the general obnoxiousness of fans in the name of “banter”.

With fans as well? I mean I work at an airport where thousands of people go through every day so can’t be any worse than that.

I’m talking more about the general obnoxiousness of fans in the name of “banter”. They've got two UEL-trophies, two UCL-final appearances and a La Liga title under Diego Simeone in eight years. That teams success is pretty much all about Simeone and his defensive play. Is it slog to watch? Sure, sometimes. But I'd like to think that football should be played in multiple different ways. Klopp wants his turbocharged attacking football, but the Simeones and Mourinhos of the world have their place. And it'd be a almost suicidal to try to go toe-to-toe with Liverpool, when nearly no other team in the world has the same capabilities going forward.

As I said, I don’t have an issue with teams using the defensive methods in certain situations, an away leg in a cup in particular. But when they do it all the time, it doesn’t win that much. Even Mourinho’s successful teams although set up with a defence first mentality had the ability to blow teams away offensively, Simeone’s teams rarely do that. I think that’s the difference between them winning more. Simeone has done a great job but I think if they want to take it to the next level, they need to replace him.

Assuming the rest of the games will go ahead but Arsenal’s being called off isn’t surprising after Wednesday.
Hopefully Arteta gets well soon and there will actually be trophies to play for for everyone this season.

National League still taking place so Halifax Town v Ebbsfleet Utd is the only football on TV at the weekend.

No football until the 3rd of April 😳 Possibly longer. The clubs and FA will meet on Thursday to decide whether to finish the season or not. Some clubs are in favour of ending the season now with current positions upheld, while others are in favour of abandoning it altogether and starting over in August. The third option is if Euro 2020 gets bumped to 2021 the season plays out over the summer, followed by either a shortened summer break, or delaying the beginning of next season until September or October. It's a tough call, because none of those options are fair to all clubs. Call all current positions final now leaves clubs like Bournemouth in relegation spots by the smallest of margins going down without fully getting the chance to save themselves. Start over and the likes of Liverpool, Leicester, Leeds, and West Brom will be aggrieved that their successful seasons thus far will count for nothing. Playing over the summer isn't ideal either, because you're either risking burnout by having almost no summer break followed by a full season and an international championship next summer, or starting next season late and playing a compressed schedule to finish it in May.

No football until the 3rd of April 😳 Honestly for all the talk of how things were handled, the football world handled the coronavirus the worse I'd say.

A shame but at least I’ll get to keep my tickets.
Since all live Sport has been pretty much cancelled now what is the best football game you’ve seen live?
I have 3 which are close to my heart
Arsenal 4 Everton 0 1998
Last home game of the season when my Dad got the tickets we were nowhere close in the title race so was just happy to go to a game. Then suddenly we started winning every week and catching Man U and if we won this game we would be Champions. My Dad took me and it was a magical day, an early goal put us at ease and the late Adams goal is classic. Amazing to see us win the title and to be there live I was 13 at the time
Reading 5 Arsenal 7 (after extra time) 2012
In terms of greatest game this has to be it. 4 nil down in the first half and bemoaning my decision to spend £30 plus travel money to a game in which we were getting absolutely slaughtered in. Walcott managed to get a goal back before half time and we amazingly got an equaliser in injury time before winning it in extra time. Mental game.
Arsenal 4 Hull 2 (after extra time) F.A. Cup Final 2014
My first time and so far only (gave my final ticket to a friend a year later when we beat Villa 5-0) at an F.A. Cup final. And I got to see one of the best finals in history. 2 nil down after 10 mins it looked like Arsenal were once again choking and our 9 year wait for a trophy would go on but a brilliant Cazorla free kick brought us back into it before a Koscielny equaliser in the 2nd half. Ramsey would win it in extra time (the 1st of 2 times he would score an F.A. Cup final winner for us) and the 9 year wait was over.
