FC PORTO WIN THE TACA DE PORTUGAL AND ALSO THE LEAGUE AND CUP DOUBLE
a solid game but with those sendings off for the champs, but that didn't stop them going two in front, and even a spirited late comeback by benfica wasn't enough!
final score BENFICA 1-2 FC PORTO

Eddie Howe out at Bournemouth.
It’s going to be fascinating to see what his next move will be.

Yessssssssssssssss!
Very happy with the Arsenal display today. Could have dropped our heads after conceding early but didn’t. Aubameyang is becoming irreplaceable at this rate.
His trophy lift was embarrassing mind but funny and Martinez crying was a touching moment. Nice to see him finally get a big moment in an Arsenal shirt after so long at the club.
It’s been a crap league season but hoping Arteta can carry this momentum into next season and we’ll see Liverpool at Wembley very soon!

I know they don’t have a divine right to be there but the fact that the oldest professional club in the world isn’t in the Football League saddens me.

Seems I was spectacularly wrong about Newcastle fans not being too bothered about the club not being funded by Saudi blood money.

Newcastle fans seem gutted about this takeover not going through from what I’ve seen. I mean I get they are desperate for Ashley to leave but this isn’t the answer surely.

Newcastle fans seem gutted about this takeover not going through from what I’ve seen. I mean I get they are desperate for Ashley to leave but this isn’t the answer surely. It's the way football is gone. The days of Nottingham Forest, Derby County etc building teams to compete at the top of their country or even Europe are gone in most of the big leagues. Some clubs get so far by building their club in the right way but generally success doesn't last too long. I know people will bring up Leicester City, that is extremely rare. I'd honestly say without the big buyouts Chelsea or Man City wouldn't have a title between them and Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool would have shared every title between them. Newcastle fans know this and that's why they are so desperate for the buyout and they may never get a chance like this again. It just depends if winning trophies is worth the blood money or not. To me it's not.

To me it's not. If Man City hadn't had such heavy investment it's debatable whether they'd even be a Premiership team anymore, let alone record breaking, multi-time champions. The season before the initial Thai investment (and subsequent Abu Dhabi) they finished 14th and Joey Barton was their top scorer with 7 goals. The parallels with the current Newcastle team are clear for all to see, so you can't blame their fans for wanting a piece of the action, even if comes from dubious sources.

Dortmund reportedly gives United until August 10 to complete the Jadon Sancho transfer. If that's intending to motivate them to get a deal done, it seems to have worked. The press are running with reports that a deal will be concluded any time between tomorrow and the weekend. Inter reportedly agreeing to sign Sánchez on a permanent deal probably plays a big part in that. Getting rid of his £400,000 per week wages will help balance the books regardless of how the Sancho deal is structured.

True, though short of Dortmund pulling the plug it seems like an inevitable deal at this point, so I guess the papers are gonna keep running these stories until it's done.
