I tried so hard today to watch Turning Point, but couldn't make it all the way through. As I said in the NJPW Showdown thread, if you are going live head to head with an AEW ppv, you need a better show than that.
I didn't want to start a separate thread for this, but how do people feel about these Twitch and Impact Plus shows in general? I love the weekly show and the ppvs, but these "specials" always seem so shitty by comparison. There are always production problems of some type, half the people on the show are a bunch of local people that suck from whatever local promotion is helping them put on the show, and the Impact wrestlers themselves don't seem to be bringing their A game in the ring. Even Don Callis and Josh Matthews sound like they don't want to be there.
I usually watch these shows and then get disappointed, so I'm not even bothering with Overdrive on Twitch tonight. I'll just wait until Tuesday when I know it will actually be a good Impact show.

Turning Point was good...but other than the Moose/Elgin/Edwards/Cage 4-way match(which was, not surprisingly, really good) & Swann/Crist...and possibly Ace/Bahh, you can skip Over Drive. Ok...Madison Rayne's promo trashing Scranton was funny, too.

These are pretty much house shows where they f*** around and have fun and give people a chance for an extra pay day. I don't think they cared about AEW.

There was nothing wrong with Turning Point's production? Then why was it that there was barely any sound when people were being interviewed by Jimmy Jacobs backstage? And if a wrestling promotion is going live head to head with AEW, they SHOULD care.

No they shouldn't. As Callis said recently, they really don't care what other promotions are doing. Wow one little thing big deal.

Eddie Edwards...... That gimmick has made him come across so shitty He's still sometimes having damn good matches. He can put on good matches if he was in a coma, dude is the epitome of a "good hand" Just the gimmick is stupid and you give possibly your best wrestler on the roster a hardcore gimmick that has lasted way past its expiration date

The background bird from those James Nyguen movies was in that backstage Taya/Jordynne segment.

Tonight was my first time watching Impact in its current state. Sadly, I probably won't be able to on a regular basis, but I appreciated seeing what all the talk was about.
Pretty solid stuff. Backstage bits were a little awkward, but everything else clicked pretty well. Kinda surprised that Jake Crist is a relevant wrestler nowadays - he and Dave were sort of my go-to picks for meh indy wrestlers that I didn't see the appeal of, and now they seem like a very solid act. Guess there's no ceiling on guys who actually get to move around and try different things.
Tessa lives up to the hype even in small doses. Her expressions and mannerisms are top notch, and she has the markings of a world class talent.
The North feel like The Revival, but different. Curious if anyone can confirm or correct.
Overall, I like it. Hope I get to see it now and again.

I'm still amazed that Johnny Swinger is a thing... and that he and Joey Ryan are likely going to feud with Ken Shamrock because Joey made him touch his dong, and Johnny took a crap in Ken's bag.... 2019 is a strange time in wrestling.
Impact is doing a good job with the roster. Clearly they are a distant third right now in the North American scene but they are making themselves a nice alternative. The shows are noticeably getting more of an audience and are starting to look better on tv each week.

Was actually home tonight so I threw Impact on. Pretty fun 4 way tag to start. It’s crazy to think their tag division is still as solid as it is with their top two tag teams leaving for AEW.

The Rascalz finish is so cool. Good to see Xavier actually defend against the interrupt post finish. Little stuff like that is good to see.

There’s no way Ace doesn’t try to sleep with Trey’s mom.
