It was a stunt contract.

He shouldn't do that to Marko's contract.

I feel like we should still be waiting on him to do this.
And he should finally do it come November 2021.
If that's not too fast for him.

I'm kinda torn on this one. On one hand I think if he does this shtick on national TV he might become some kind of instant sensation, but he's the wrestling equivalent of vaudeville stars that went to Hollywood at the dawn of sound. Once we put the act on film (or in this case national TV or PPV) everyone has seen it. A lifetime of material can be burned through pretty quickly.

Kayfabe vs. comedy debate notwithstanding, I find this dude about as funny as pancreatic cancer. The OMG BUT HE CAN ACTUALLY GO WHEN HE WANTS TO stuff doesn't really wash with me, because the fact that he can allegedly go and chooses to do his stupid nonsensical shtick instead makes it worse, not better.
Back to the other debate: we all have lines where "entertainment" goes too far past believability. Game of Thrones fans could accept magic and dragons and giants, but if Jon Snow pulled out a cell phone at a climactic moment, there'd rightfully be outrage over it. Just because the Irish whip has been an accepted thing for 100 years doesn't automatically mean that anything goes--or, at least, it shouldn't.

I mean, arguably the hottest acts in wrestling right now are a deranged children's show host who turns into a monster clown and a dinosaur. But enough about Kurt Angle and Goldberg

I already had Cassidy and Nakazawa as my AEW tag champs in 2K19 Universe mode. But good on AEW for playing catch-up anyways.

He's probably raking it in by indy standards, and isn't breaking himself in half night in, night out. That's......supposed to be bad? Nah, man, OC's one of the smartest guys in the business. He's got an incredibly over act that's easy on his body, AND he can go when it's time to go.

A cell phone in Game of Throes runs counter to everything about the universe and how it's built, I swear these outrageous anacrhonisms come up every time and they betray a lack of understanding of universe building and storytelling, not some deep gotcha knowledge of it.

The OMG BUT HE CAN ACTUALLY GO WHEN HE WANTS TO stuff doesn't really wash with me, because the fact that he can allegedly go and chooses to do his stupid nonsensical shtick instead makes it worse, not better. Here's the easiest way to see it. In other forms of entertainment, you can show yourself as versatile if you're willing to try different sort of roles. That's why depending on the situation, you'll find Channing Tatum in better comedic roles than serious ones or why Steven Soderbergh rarely sticks to one genre of film to direct. If you are flexible and willing to go with stuff, you get more bookings. It's why there are more Irish talent being booked in the UK and Europe than before because they've shown they can do hot and heavy singles matches and crazy comedic matches. It makes bookers willing to go with you to balance a card out. I saw a match with Gentlemen Jervis that was strictly comedy and one against David Starr where he's an underdog and showed enough utility to get the audience into him in both cases. That shows a way better understanding of the business than just going all the time. But you're also talking about TV compared to live performance, which wrestling is, and in live performance, you have way more flexibility in what you can and cannot do because you're trying to get the audience on your side in that moment instead of through a season and even that depends on the company and storyline and such. And even with something like GoT, if there's an in universe reason Jon Snow has a mobile phone or whatever, you can make that work. GoT turns into Kit Harrington's concussed fever dream after being knocked out on set. I'm not saying it's good or you should do it, but there's nothing strictly saying you can only do that. And why pro wrestling is so good is because it's the only art form that relies on audience participation on a consistent basis and things can change that'll help an audience get more invested and get the booker more money. And also, like with theatre, you can literally do anything and use what's around you within obvious reasons of gravity and matter etc.

If they shell out the cash to license "Jane," I'm fine with this.
If not...f*** this show

I had never actually seen the dude until WrestleCon this year and he won me over in minutes. He was so damn entertaining. And I say this as a fan of New Japan and more realistic wrestling. I feel like if you're a fan long enough and seen enough, you learn to switch your brain off and on for different styles.

I don’t mind his act unless people actually sell for his slow motion moves. That goes a little too far, IMO.

I look forward to seeing his range as it he's said to be awfully talented. The lazy gimmick works with the live shows as most of the crowd are seeing it for the first time, on a weekly TV show it may get old quickly forcing him to jazz it up. Same really for all gimmick wrestlers making the jump from indies to regular TV.
